I would be more than surprised if they even mentioned Freeze as a possible candidate after the press conference today but one never knows.

Not sure who I’d call. I’d obviously put out feelers of potential coaches who would be interested in the job. Make a list and start going through them. Look I’m no expert I just want a proven winner; someone who’s went toe to toe with Saban, Mullen or Kirby. I want someone who’s going to play chess with them on the field and put us in a position to win.

So you guys really think Tennessee fires a coach for rule violations then hires a coach that was fired for rule violations. Are some of you seriously this crazy.

I agree and I don't think they hire him either. Apparently those in the know thinks UT is one of the jobs on his short list.

Chris Low said Freeze didn't get fired from Ole Miss because of recruiting violations because they were going to say the hell with the NCAA. He got fired for calling hot chicks on a company phone.

If it sounds too good to be true then it normally is.

Sankey can't say squat until he forces Will Wade out of the league for getting caught on tape admitting to major violations himself. He put his head in the sand in that instance, so he can keep it there while we hire whoever we want.

As the league has never been more successful or profitable, perhaps the league has determined that a successful business model includes Tennessee being bad.

The worse Tennessee gets, the better the league does.

Maybe that's how they are choosing to improve their product and maximize their revenue stream.
Crazy how I actually hear a differing opinion even from opposing fan bases. Tennessee being strong only draws more eyes to the SEC. if you have a 3 team dogfight in the east and the west only increases interest in the conference and ensures more schedule forgiveness for all involved due to strength of schedule.

It must be Freeze.

Other than the escorts, what did he do?

Get the bagman involved like everybody else in the SEC except for the Commodumps?

What are the odds he calls escorts AGAIN after all he's been through? Unlikely.

The only risk is a perceptual one. Some people will be bent out of shape about his past. That's it.

Paying players? Everyone does it. Anybody could get caught.

Hiring Freeze is at worst "oh golly Tennessee has no standards!"

I'll take WINNING thank you and the dude is currently redeeming himself quite well. And he needs to keep redeeming himself clad in big orange.

The first person I'd make say no is Chris Peterson. Do I think its likely we get him or he'd want to come here, no....but I'd hand him the checkbook and tell him to name his price. Only after we gave him the same treatment that Bama gave ol Nicky boy, and he still walk, would I then back the truck up to Liverty U and move Freeze to Knoxville.

Peterson has been who I thought we should have made an offer to that he couldn't resist for a couple coaching searches now. There is no downside with him.
You want to pay a coach Saban money who had previously won a National championship at LSU.. I’d pay Peterson a lot but come on.

First, I don't think Tennessee will select Freeze.

But, if we did, I find it odd that the SEC commissioner would veto Freeze given that they allowed Calipari to coach Kentucky after having final 4 appearances vacated at 2 different schools. When did the SEC ever allow that before? And they allowed Pearl back in the SEC after a Show Cause. Mullen is still coaching Florida with a Show Cause.
Heck and the NCAA allowed LSU basketball coach to remain after admitting on fbi wire tap that he was in bidding wars for players. I still haven't got my head wrapped around that one yet. And of course noble North Carolina who covered up and covered up the cheating scandal only to get the hand slapped. And of course Miami oh Miami. GBO!!!!!

Why is that?
Herman? Because of possible issues with Texas Adm and Boosters. Apparently there are rough relationships there. Also there were possible reports he implied that the same people mentioned above and the fans as a group were racists. From his ability to run a major college football program From an x’s and o’s standpoint heard nothing negative but the HC has to be a CEO Type who can be diplomatic to the degree that he work well with all the different factions within a university.

Of course. Let's get a guy who's record at Texas looks like Butch's here.

You serious?

5 seasons - Butch: 34-27 (.557)
With 2 losing seasons out of 5

4 seasons - Herman: 32-18 (.640)
Never had a losing season
Took Texas to 4 straight bowls....winning all of them.

Try again......his record is nothing like Butch’s at Tennessee.

Well sorry but there not many guys out there that is a realistic choice that is going to meet all the criteria. Be honest how many guys out there has that sparkling record that doesn't look like Butch Jones at Tennessee that is going to be able to come in and update our offense and put it where it needs to be. Jamey Caldwell or Billy Napier would be my second guy but because Herman has had power 5 experience he would get my first call.
