Ugh...sometimes I think we deserve to be trash with our fanbase that we have....unbelievable how obvious it is that Freeze is the best candidate and the absolute perfect candidate to restore us to greatness.

They didn’t want the offer to become public to avoid embarrassment? Well they sure as hell got rejected publicly by Billy Napier. So why would they be ok with being publicly rejected by the head coach at Louisiana but not the one at Liberty?

He’s happy and well compensated at Liberty. If a major university in the south offers him he would take it but no one has beat down his door yet. He would take a Tennessee offer though with plenty of protection for the university wrote in.

I think many on here, and in UT admin, fear the teasing that would undoubtedly follow a Freeze hire from national media and SEC opponent fans. To that - I say ENOUGH! You don't think we are the Joke of the SEC right now? Is that not shaming enough to make you open your minds to someone who could be a once in a generation hire? The man has been subjected to his self created world of humiliation tenfold. He has had to start from near the bottom. Is his hire a slam dunk home run? No, there is almost no such thing. And if we somehow were to get him here, and he fails in coaching or in his personal conduct, then I as a long suffering Vol fan will live with that. Yeah I don’t see Harsin as a homerun hire. Honestly think auburn is worse than they were with Gus. I think this is part of the thing making Tennessee pause on pulling the trigger this year. Napier and Malzahn would both get calls if we made a change. It just hard to get an elite guy now days, Florida had to make several hires before they landed Mullen.

Harsin feels like a change for the sake of change hire to me.

I can get their frustration with Malzahn with the inconsistency. They just lost too many games they should have won. And being a supposed offensive genius, his offenses looked pretty shaky at times.

But Harsin is going to have a learning curve and a tough job recruiting unless he brings in a bunch of assistants with ties all over the SE...which could well be their plan. Think the guy can succeed but it will be interesting to see how it shakes out.
