How would you feel about not playing Alabama every year?

I'm a ultra traditionalist.........................but I could care less if the Bama game isn't yearly. Mainly for equity.

Even with the way the series has been going, I can't stand the thought of not playing Alabama every year.

I'm surprised that a lot of the UT fans I work with are ready to throw in the towel and would like to see a different West opponent.

Your thoughts?

For Tennessee it’d be best if it were played once every 10 to 15 years to give Tennessee time to prepare.

With the exception of Kiffin’s 1 try the other 14 haven’t really been close.

2015 was really close.

If you wanna be the Man, ya gotta beat the Man.

2015 was really close.

Sure, other than 2009, 2015 was the most competitive. With 2 or 2 1/2 mins left we needed a TD so everyone new we had to pass resulting in the two sacks by Bama to close it. This series has not done anything positive for TN the last 15 years. Nothing positive comes from recruiting. Regardless of tradition, TN would be much better off NOT playing Bama every year. Sad but very true.

Ohio State and Michigan are in the same division. Move Bama to the east and I won't complain. But when UGA gets Auburn who's up and down, and UF gets LSU who's up and down, and UT gets Bama who is just always up, it's a competitive disadvantage. Pride is just a concept, **** it. I'm for being smart. Lol

As I am unfortunately experiencing with Florida again this season, the vast majority of time, it's not the opponent. It's yourselves.

We played Alabama this year. I could cry about it. But, we couldn't beat Kentucky or LSU, so what difference does it make.

Would love to see the SEC do away with all locked games for teams in the East-West division. I think all of the cross division games should be rotated every year. If a player stays for four years he will not get to play everyone in the conference within that time. As it is currently, rotating 2 western teams every year would allow a player to play against everyone. Still want to play Bama every year ? Drop one of the junk games they schedule every year and play Bama or at least win the east and see them in the SEC championship game.

All of the 98ers around here need to wake up. It’s been 25-30 years since this game mattered. In 2021 there’s not even a legitimate argument to play Alabama. Ask me again when we meet them in the SECCG.

Uh...nope...believe it or not...traditions MEAN something.
All tradition means is you been doing something a long time. We need to be smarter that’s why you change you underwear everyday,

We should not play them every year. We need to have them rotate like other teams. It’s not smart to give other teams in our division an advantage. We help the rest of our division get to the East championship game by playing them. We have to be smarter and stuck in tradition.

Why not rotate? Georgia and Florida don't play the Tide EVERY stinking year. Let some of our SEC East brethren enjoy the good times, too!

If I’m not mistaken prior to this run we are on now we beat them 9-11 games I think they were saying. Gotta keep playing.

Alabama has not cost UT a trip to Atlanta even once during the current streak. The truth is that UT helps the rest of the division by losing to them.

The end is almost here. We have made it through 15 years. At some point they will get bad again. It would be so Tennessee for us to get them off the schedule, then the following year they go Clemson and have a 4-8 year. We would miss it. Prolly pick up miss state and they’d go 12-1 that season.

Oh, probably the same way cowards feel when they actively avoid, flee from, or hide themselves whenever a bigger man comes along to challenge their myopic and self serving worldview.

If it feels like a cowardly b!tch move...well....It probably is.
Well, if we're gonna be manly-man about it, let's not stop there. Let's play Clemson every year and put Ohio State on there as well! Shoot, let's put the Cleveland Browns on there and call it the Haslam Bowl! Mmmm tough! lol

I am ok with dropping Bama from the rotation. They are a bunch of uneducated morons.

Let's play Vandy the first and last game of each year.
I see what you're saying. It's not so much a, "I'm afraid to play them" type of thing because:
1) I'm not the one suiting up. Why would I be afraid?
2) Think of some of the cool places we miss out on more often than not - The Loveliest Village on the Plains, The Grove, College Station (hour from Houston), Baton Rouge (hour from NOLA). But noooo...we insist on going to that Third World latrine in Tuscaloser. I resent having to share my airspace with them.
