How will we match up against Wisconsin

Yes , what did happen in that Auburn/Wisc Bowl game in 02, or the Georgia/ Wisc Bowl game in 03? Dont throw out old Bowl games for stats just yet.

and one more thing, dont use name calling as a defense. Bring it or quit typing.

And they were in those games the whole time too, with that first Auburn game tied 14 all with 4 minutes left in the 4th and the Georgia game a 3 point loss. I don't see how you can use those games in your argument of a blow-out. Especially since after that Georgia game, Barry Alvarez (now AD at UW) decided he needed a faster defense and Bielema has continued that, hence UW's starting linebackers are all under 235 pounds and several DEs are under 250.

I used name calling because you read that with such rose tinted glasses that you read it as I thought the Big Ten was a superior conference and Tennessee sucks especially compared to Michigan and OSU, where as I said traditionally Michigan and OSU are more feared than Tennessee.

No SEC team should ever fear OSU or UM...Have you looked at their bowl records against SEC schools?

Foster will go for anywhere to 5-8 a pop then.

I still haven't seen you or any UW fan make a legit argument why you will win. Bowl history doesn't mean crap IMO.

Defensive break-down...

Scheme - it's a basic 4-3 on the majority of downs but it will switch to a 3-3-5 or nickel on obvious passing downs... they don't blitz too often (10 sacks by non-DL) but when they do it usually works... up until recently they were a below average tackling team

DL = injury plagued all season and still is... starting DT Jason Chapman was lost for the season against OSU, DE Kurt Ware is bothered by a nagging injury... great run stoppers early in the game but can get wore down if on the field too long (held Wells of OSU to 3.9 ypc in the first 38 minutes, but gave up 10.8 the final 22 minutes)... average 2.4 sacks a game with sack leaders DE FR DeCremer (5.5), DE JR Shaughnessy (5), and DT SR Hayden (4.5)

LB = Jekyll and Hyde group that their success depends greatly on the DL in the running game... speedy Casillas is the most consistent as he leads the team in tackles (86)... almost as fast Levy is 2nd in TFL (10) and tackles (64)... Hodge is bigger and not quite as fast and has a nagging injury that has lasted most of the season 3rd in tackles (61)... good cover LBs as Casillas is possibly fast enough to be a corner and Levy isn't far behind

CB - Jack Ikegwuonu (Ike for short) = shut-down corner as he is destined for first day in the NFL Draft and usually gives opposing receivers their worst game of the season (best example - James Hardy for Indiana puts up about 6 catches for 90 yards and 1 or 2 TDs had 3 catches for 17 yards against Ike)... has 23 tackles, 1 INT, and 15 pass breakups... since Allen Langford was lost to a season ending knee injury against OSU the other is true FR Aaron Henry... he is a great talent and maybe be the best corner UW's had since Jamar Fletcher or Troy Vincent when it's all said and done but has had plenty times where you could tell he was a FR... has 38 tackles, 3.5 sacks, 1 INT, 1 FF

S - Shane Carter = improving run defender and great pass defender as he has his brother's hands (Cris of Viking fame) with 7 INTs on the season... 51 tackles... Aubrey Pleasant = terrible run stopper, often out of position against it, average against the pass... 46 tackles and 2 sacks

P - Ken DeBauche = was an AA his soph yr but has regressed in average length and hang time these past 2 seasons... a bit more than 1 every 4 punts is downed inside the 20

Random Stats - Safety Shane Carter tied for 4th in nation in interceptions... DE Matt Shaughnessy is tied for 21st in nation with 1.33 TFL a game... against spread offense teams they give up 403 yards a game, against non-spread, they give up 298 yards

If our defense plays like we did at the SECCG, it's gonna be ugly for the Badgers reguardless of the bad day Ainge will have. They better pack alot of smelling salts with Berry, Mayo, & McCoy on the prowl.

Your DL analysis just gave me a good feeling
If you can't get pressure on Ainge he'll pick you apart

Well this will make you even happier. #3 CB Aaron Henry torn a knee ligament yesterday so he is out for the game. That leaves Wisconsin with their #4 corner, SR former walk-on Ben Strickland, starting. He is primarily a special teamer. Luckily for us he isn't a liability against the pass as he is very intelligent, but I don't think he's been in the game much against the run. He has 28 tackles, 1 INT, and 4 pass break-ups.

We never wish injury on anyone. That sucks

they won't play 3-3-5 against us because we throw into the flats too often. Our strengths (check downs, throwing into flat) perfectly counter their apparent weakness (3-3-5).

Well I meant another downgrade for UW's defense. Not celebrating a player's injury.

On the upside, I'm really happy for Ben Strickland. He's one of those guys you can help but cheer for. He and long snapper Steve Johnson walked on together from being on the same high school team. Both worked their way into substantial playing time and earned scholarships. This season Wisconsin had to take Steve's scholarship away and when Ben heard it was going to happen he decided to give his scholarship to Steve, since Ben was in a better financial situation and was graduating in 3.5 years instead of 4. Here's the article on it.

not happy about an injury
just want TN to win

Wisconsin's a big, slow team. UT should handle them easily.

40 Times
QB = Tyler Donovan - 4.75
HB = PJ Hill - 4.63, Lance Smith - 4.55, Zach Brown -4.59
TE = Travis Beckum - 4.58, Garrett Graham - 4.84
WR = Paul Hubbard - 4.49, Kyle Jefferson - 4.56
PR/KR = David Gilreath - 4.44
DE = Matt Shaughnessy - 4.69
LB = DeAndre Levy - 4.57, Jon Casillas - 4.5, Elijah Hodge - 4.59
DB = Jack Ikegwuonu - 4.54 and he was the guy that ran McFadden down from behind last year

So obviously they are big and slow. There's others that I couldn't find times for most of the secondary (as the #2 and #3 corners are out of the game) but these were taken from draft sites so they are probably the most accurate (Casillas and Levy are listed at 4.44 or under some places).

And before anyone says anything, I'm not at all trying to say Wisconsin's faster or going to win because of this. I'm just trying to clear up a misconception that has persisted too long. I'll cite the 2005 Auburn game because everyone, and I mean everyone, said Wisconsin would get dominated by Auburn's speed at every position, but UW out ran them.

So what's your score prediction.
Also go have a fishbowl down at Wando's, do they still have $1.00 burgers on Monday nights?

best wishes then, dress appropriately, make assertive conversation, use proper grammar, and have a firm hand-shake. Then once you get the job, you can slack off at work by spending all your time in the VN.

Well now it's $3 burgers on Monday. But I'm well versed with the fish bowls as I had an entire one myself on my 21st last Friday.

My score prediction:

If Wisconsin's D plays like it has lately...
Wisconsin 27
Tennessee 24

If the injuries are too much...
Wisconsin 28
Tennessee 38

Congrats on the B-day,

I think it will be:
TN 35
WI 17

Hope you hit the Nitty Gritty, it's free beer on your Birthday.
