How will we match up against Wisconsin

Yeah.. your right. However missing all that playing time does sound like its more serious than a bruise though.

It's apparently a deep bruise right over a metal plate that was from a previous leg injury his redshirt year. The medical staff has cleared him to play recently but he still hasn't returned to practice.

Wisconsin's good for 2 things: beer and cheese. UT will win this game easy---I'm not worried at all.

Am going to have to do some reading on Wisconsin this week.

Well to help you out...

Offensive scheme - average about 35 passing attempts and 45 runs a game... average 212 yards passing and 202 yards rushing... 16 passing TDs (to 10 INTs) and 28 rushing TDs... many different sets ranging from 2 WR, 1 TE slot, 1 TE, 1 RB to 1 WR, 3 TE, 1 RB (that isn't a short yardage formation) to utilize our great depth at tight end

QB - Tyler Donovan SR = 5'11" 185, but extremely tough so don't expect to knock him out of a game, it's only happened for a total of 2 drives the whole season... not a very accurate passer (58%) and locks onto the primary target too often throwing into double coverage rather than check down to an open receiver... very agile and quick, has a good feel for the pocket and can make plays throwing or running outside the pocket (6.2 ypc with sacks factored out)

RB - see my previous post on the last page for rushing info... not really involved in passing games as the RBs combine for 21 receptions for 126 yards and 2 TDs

TE - Travis Beckum JR = the best receiving tight end in the nation, average blocker... has 73 receptions for 960 yards and 6 TEs - Garrett Graham FR = good blocker... has 23 receptions for 253 yards and 4 TDs - Andy Crooks SR = great blocker but injured much of the season... was a passing threat last season but hasn't recorded a catch this season - Mickey Turner FR = great blocker, not a passing threat

WR - Paul Hubbard SR = long, tall, and fast, came to UW as a track and field star... has 13 receptions for 278 yards and 2 TDs in 5 games due to knee injury early in season - Kyle Jefferson FR = long, tall, and fast also, 23 receptions for 385 yards and 2 TDs after not playing the first 2 games

OL = huge (the numbers are true on the depth chart) and relatively athletic for their size... many injuries this season and a frosh at left tackle, I don't know much about the line other than this

K - Taylor Mehlhaff = considered to be one of the best in the nation... 40/41 for EPs and 20/24 on FGs (misses of 37, 38, 42, and 48) with a long of 51

KR/PR - David Gilreath = speedy freshman that is 10th in the nation at punt returns with 14.9 ypr, average kick returner at 22.4 ypr

Random stats = 2nd in the nation at time of possession, 25th in 3rd down conversion (45%), only 19 giveaways on the season, 100th in kick returns, allow 2.5 sacks per game, allow 5.75 TFLs a game (43th)

Defense tomorrow if ya want it

Interesting. Sounds like the kind of scheme that Chavis's 4-3-4 defense has had success against this year.

Eric Berry will have at least one pick, maybe two.

Donavan has 6 more touchdowns than interceptions and is only 57% as far as completions go. They dont have any recievers with over 1000 yds. Stop the run like Penn State did and they will crumble. Jo Pa held them to under 87 yards rushing, forced them to throw, caused 3 turnovers and whipped em by 31 pts. I'd say optimisim is the order of the day.

That and that big freakin orange T on the helmet will intimidate the crap outta those stinking badgers! Badgers? We dont need no stinkin badgers!!!

Little play on words there for those of you keeping score at home.

I'd venture a guess that Wisconsin wouldn't be intimidated by a T when they see silver and stickered helmets and the "classic" helmets every year.

awsome!! I went fishing and look what I caught floating around????

Yup that Classic helmet looked damn good against a double a, and then theres the whole, dominating performance against Michigan State. As far as the suck eyes go, they played no one at all this season. In fact they have essentially taken the year off and let others lose their way outta of the NC game. Ie: Mizzou, USC, and even Ok.

Tennessee will burn the state of Wisconsin to the ground . There are not enough light bulbs in Tampa to supply the score board for how many points Wisc will allow the Vols. good day.

Penn State and Illinois (the week before) had the advantage of a quick lead. Illinois jumped out 17-0, and Penn State 17-7, both by the early 2nd quarter. That forced OC Paul Chryst to make the offense pass happy and abandon the run. It wasn't so much that PSU was shutting down the run as Wisconsin giving up on it, although having 2 first or second round NFL draft linebackers doesn't hurt.

It worked out in the end for both teams, but against Illinois UW showed they could stay in a game having to throw (outscored Illinois 26-14 after early 17-0 deficit). Donovan was 27 of 49 for 392 yards and 2 TDs. But the chance of success for UW drops with increasing passing yards. I believe I read somewhere that Wisconsin, in it's entire history, is 0-fer in games when their QB throws for more than 390 yards.

I'm not saying Michigan or OSU is a better team than you. I'm saying as a program, Tennessee is a lot less scary of an opponent than those two, Alabama, USC, etc. I'm pretty sure a realist on this board would agree with me. But you obviously aren't one since you seem to think Tennessee is going to steamroll Wisconsin. Reminds me of Auburn a couple years ago. What happened there?

tomatoes-tomatoes, it make no diffrence. Call it what you want, if Wisc cant run, they fold like a Wal-Mart lawn chair. Your stat on them being o-fer w/ a qb that throws for 390 is dead on.

The point of the matter is, Tennessee is a better team offensively than Wisc and they are going to score on that defense. With that said, its a matter of stopping the scoring of Wisc. which, as we have agreed on now, is one dimensional. Thus, Wisconsin will get torched by Ainge and Foster.

I would add bratwurst to that list.

Used to travel in Wis. Have several friends there, 3 couples stay with us for Nascar races, I have found people there to be ok. Still hope we skin those Badgers.

Yes , what did happen in that Auburn/Wisc Bowl game in 02, or the Georgia/ Wisc Bowl game in 03? Dont throw out old Bowl games for stats just yet. You have plenty of holes in that ship to fill already with the stats from this season. Instead of debating with me, youd better get your boys hyped to play some Defence against a team that can actually score. Unlike those jv squads yall have sneaked by all year.

and one more thing, dont use name calling as a defense. Bring it or quit typing.

I wasn't aware, but apparently Vandy gets a wad of cash for the other teams in the SEC going to bowl games. All the while they sit at home. Maybe they "Are" the smart ones.....

All SEC schools share the bowl money under a formula I don't recall. The team in the bowl gets a slightly larger share than the other 11 teams, I believe. Thats why we should always pull for all SEC teams, yes that means Bama and Florida too! It would be interesting to calcualte just how much we could receive this year.
