It's more like we think we at least have a chance against Tennessee.I have noticed that on the Badger boards they wanted to play UT because this is a game they could win easily. Funny how that works, isn't it......:whistling:
Totally agree, this could be a shoot out, see lots of big runs for a healthy Hill, keep them to FG attempts is a key. Similar to the LSU game, we give up a ton of yards, put keep the points down, though. The match up to watch will definitely be P.J. Hill and his OL against our front 7 if Hill is 100% after this long layoff IMO.
Our O will need to have some long drives to keep our LB's fresh and it would be really nice to get a good lead early and try and take Hill out of the game. If we don't Hill and company could have a big day like Tony Hunt did last year.
The obvious difference between this years game and last years is that Penn State's Defense last year >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Wisconsin's Defense so we could be able to win even if Hill has a big day but our odds would go way down.
Hill will probably miss bowl game; Landingham transfers - Badgers Blog
PJ Hill is most likely out for the Outback. Their other RB's are good but our smaller fast LB's match up better against them IMO.
Yes, I'm aware of who they are and they are both good RBs. They just don't present the matchup problem that Hill would against our LBs. Our LBs are below average in size (215 - 230 - 218 across the board) but they are quick and Mayo and McCoy won't hesitate to take someones head off.The 2 guys that will share the load if PJ doesn't play are Lance Smith and Zach Brown.
Smith was the 100 mph fastball to Hill the change-up. He's very quick and shifty. He's had a number of plays this season that he's made the defenders look silly at a Reggie Bush level. He's averaging 6.2 yards a carry, mostly it's either a 2 yard or less run or a 8 yard or more run from him. The only real receiving threat out of all 3 of the backs.
Brown is a hybrid of Smith and Hill. He's much more agile and fast compared to Hill, but is pound up the gut guy too, which Smith doesn't excel at. He's had a 63 yard game at OSU, 108 yard game against Michigan, and 250 yards at Minnesota since Hill's injury.

This game is showing similarities to the Arkansas game for me. That is the closest think of as far as similar teams that UT has played this year. Obviously DMac and Felix Jones are > than Brown and Smith. That game turned out pretty well for Tennessee. I think if Tennessee shows up to play they should win by 10 or more. That is a pretty big if though considering Tennessee's recent bowl history though.
Wisconsin coach Brett Bielema told the Wisconsin State Journal that tailback P.J. Hill, who missed most of the last three games with a leg bruise, may not be ready to play the Vols.
"I don't know how definite that is," Bielema said. "I just know he hasn't practiced since maybe three games left in the season and from what I've seen he isn't going to be able to carry forward any time (soon) right now."
