UGA looked good last night. They'll likely finish the season between 2nd and 4th.

We sure spanked that team. How the heck did we do that?

Note: Thread idea acknowledgement goes to Vader!

Happy New Year Vols!

better coaching and better gameplan

(plus UGA didn't have the magic black jerseys )

Easy, they have a girl for a QB and we exploited that.

I dont think we could hang with them the way they played at the end of the season. They would run all over us. Next year will be a big time test for us.

IMO from a defensive perspective, Georgia is good match-up for Tennessee. On the other hand, defensively, Florida is a bad match-up.

Georgia had an impressive second half of the season, there's no question about that.

But, let's not crown them based on last night's performance against Hawaii. That game was a total physical mismatch. The Warriors wouldn't have fared much better against Tennessee if the Vols had made the trip to New Orleans.

Hawaii was simply exposed...the same way that Kansas was exposed by Missouri.

You can only hide behind your schedule for so long...eventually, you'll have to line up against a good football team and show what you're made of.

I agree 100% any sec team could have whipped Hawaii

So average play gets you to the SEC championship game? Interesting way to look at it, I guess...

No matter how many times we tell the NegaVol/Gator fans who post here that fact, they refuse to get it.

And if we finish top 10 those same fans will call it mediocre here.

It strikes me that the Fire Fulmer fans are winless in their cause. That makes their productivity a whole lot worse than 'mediocre.' And if one takes the seasons they keep counting as evidence (9 seems to be the number they use), they should find new leadership who knows its past time to turn the page, IMO.

congratulations, you've shaken out on the winning side and as long as you are we'll have a lot of Outback and Peach Bowl appearances to show for it.

Our play against Bama was horrendous. Our play against Arkansas was good. Our play against Vanderbilt was bad, we were average against South Carolina and Kentucky. Average may actually have been kind.

this season, there's no doubt that average play was plenty to arrive at the SECCG, from either division.

Logically, there are only eight teams that anyone who buys into the 'haven't won an NC since 1999' perspective could support. Two of them play this year meaning there's a 50% random chance of picking the only team who meets that criterion if you choose before the game.

It's safer to wait until after the game and then just start rooting for the winner. You could then start an early campaign to fire their coach next year without waiting to see if they repeat in the next decade or not.

It's an opportunity to pick a new team.

I'll stick with the Vols and whoever is coaching them-- especially when they have one who has a NC ring with UT on it; nine 10-win seasons, and a possible top 10 finish this year.

We didnt look much above average against Vandy, Kentucky, South Carolina.

The sum of the Gators wins and one would have been a ten win season for them.

Oh well... that's puts them somewhere below average by your definition. Actually that great new coach of theirs led them to a third place finish in the East, this year. Don't even have to wait a year to criticize him.

Huh? Maybe I'm just slow today, but this makes no sense to me.
