How much of a chance do the Vols have at winning the east next year?

Lol. I like how everyone talks about our offense.... And not our defense. We will still have great game plans and still not have the horses to execute for much more than a half. Our only prayer is if we get a couple freshman dlineman and at least one freshman db that play way better than you expect freshmen to play. Otherwise our offense wont be able to keep pace. We are still a 7-5 team without major luck.

south carolina will be the best team, but UT might pull the upset. Florida and Ga should be way down.

In regards to the OP:

It's way early, as we all know, I dunno how rosters and recruiting classes will shape up, but here's my $.02...

USCjr: Loses to UGA, @MSU, @UT, UF; go 8-4 (4-4)
UF: Loses to UT, Bama, @LSU, UGA; go 8-4 (4-4)
UGA: Loses to Boise St, @UT; go 10-2 (7-1)
UT: Loses to LSU, @Bama; go 10-2 (6-2)

That's our best case scenario. And I really do think Richt will field a good team next year. Aaron Murray was very impressive last year, and he's only gonna get better.

Realistically, we probably have the best shot at UF that we've seen in (ugh) years. I want payback against UGA, LSU, and USC, but I think we only win one of those games. Arkansas is an enigma without Mallett. And we'll win our OOC and against UK and Vandy, as always. Depth and inexperience will still be a factor, but I still think we can go 8-4 (4-4). Losses against Bama, UGA, LSU, and Arky.

Well really just as much as anyone else. Realistically probably around 15 percent.

This isnt like rolling a die, teams are different. Vandy has a 0% chance. Kentucky, not much better. Fl and ga are loaded with talent, even if they appear weak in a couple positions. If the coaches get their head out of ....... The dark, they will both be good. Usc has talent and pretty good coaching. We have good coaching, but our roster still looks like we just came off probation.

I bet there isn't one team in the East you guys would trade starters for though.

You might have the most talent on offense of anyone in the East. In my eyes you do anyways............

I wouldn't trade my offense at all. I would take a feature back for $100 Alex. Hope Marlin Lane can be that.

Junior--50
Gators--30
Dawgs--10
Vols--10
Cats and Vandy <0

So why is junior and Florida so high?

Junior- Lattimore and Jeffrey back but their line and a lot of defensive starters are gone.

Florida- all new system and coaches, losing their best lineman, WRs are so so, RBs are not true RBs, and their defense is not just lights out, especially with them losing both safeties. The CBs suck outside of Jenkins and we like to throw the ball. Hmmm..........recipe for a beatdown.

In reality it is a 16.667% chance since there are six teams in the east. If you drop UK and Vandy from the mix, that would make it a 25% chance. If you figure in the fact that the other three teams have more talent, that would probably lower that percentage a bit(22.5%). Then throw into the mix that one of those teams probably has a better coach(CSS), it may lower it a tad more(20%). One team has a more experienced coach(CMR) that ends up underachieving with his plethora of talent, so we will call that a wash(still 20%). The other team is way more talented, but has a new coaching staff and more than likely a new system. We will say that bumps our chances a tad(22.5%). We get two of the more talented teams at home, so give us another bump(25%). The thing that, IMO, makes the biggest dent in our chances is the fact we have to play probably the three top teams in the west next year(20%) with two of them being on the road(16.66%). So, after all that, it still takes three licks to get to the center of a tootsie roll pop and our chances at winning the east are still 1 in 6.

:hi: Statistics or math major? :eek:lol:
