I see a lot of variables in this transition. one is if we will see the evidence of coaching mal-practice. Tyler Byrd on the offense isn't exactly crazy unless, of coarse, you put him on offense and throw to him at the most, once a game. That's just plain stupid. Then there are some observers that believe McKenzie would be more natural at OG.
I've come to believe that an aggressive/attacking style, instead of a read & react will be more suitable for o-line. In my playing days I was always told that if I think too much about getting injured I would be the most prone for injury. less thinking, more reaction.
Finesse is more for skill positions, that's why they call them skill positions.
then there is the question of what we're getting back. Lets be honest, after two seasons of unprecedented injury, do we really know? We haven't seen Darrin Kirkland healthy since the first game of 2016. Will we have C. Hall back (huge question for the o-line)How many follow conventional wisdom about recovering from knee surgery? (think Nick Chubb,s first season back last year and Nick Chubb this year.) This will be Tuttle,s second season back from surgery. There isn,t many we can look at as known commodities but between those recovering and the up and coming new comers, we'll just have to see how this team is restructured.
Then there is attitude. How much attrition? Can't possibly know. I can only hope that the pain of last season has a more lasting impression on the young men than anything disagreeable from the new staff. no idea, it's college football. I guess it would be boring if everything was predictable and we knew what was going to happen. We wouldn't be fans.
