The majority add something along the lines of "so far" or "but" etc. meaning they're ok because they believe better is coming.

However, when there's a majority, there is also a minority. There will always be an extreme. Go 6-6, some will say "he's still my coach".

11-1, some, "he botched 12-0, so sick of this". People be crazy.

Yea, that's why I think sjt and others misunderstand and jump to conclusions.

But like what I understood Beecher to have said and the thought I just had, is maybe some don't really know what they're saying.

I don't know. None of us can read minds.

This is a dumb post!!! Not only is it dumb, but it is destructive to the very football team you profess to love! You know we are recruiting at a very high level right now, and then you make such an idiotic post! How is a post like this going to help? Thread should be deleted!

Lol, overreact much? The talk of CBJ long term job stability is a subject everywhere. Its not like recruits come on vn and are shocked that his job stability is being discussed.

The more I read the more I think 8 with a win in Nashville, Jacksonville, Memphis, or Charlotte is fine. "It hits the average!"

I'm agreeing.
Some view a winning record as enough.
Not realizing that being over 500 isn't that great of an accomplishment.
Just pointing out that the "some" appears to be a minority. Most also state that expect much more to come.

Dammit, I was agreeing with you. If you can't read my mind like everyone else you should at least be able to understand my gibberish by now.

Brother, I so get you.
For those of us that do, "lol" is both the the most accurate and the most reasoned/intellectual retort on VN.
I still just laugh at times and think
"Well that covers it". :)

Edit: sometimes my response to you isn't a response to you but a response to others using what you said.

Not much of a hugger but I would probably buy that guy a beer.

Never thought that so many people would have their heads up their own butts, that someone who just speaks normal common sense would stand out.

1. 9-3 is actually above school average and it's highly unlikely that would get him fired. Just reality.
I just accepted the other guy's premise. IIRC, the historic avg for wins is around 8 or 9 but that includes the era when CFB only played 10 or 11 games... maybe all the way back to the days when they played less.

This year 9-3 won't get him fired. If anyone thinks that... they're not realistic. I think 8 or 9 buys him time. Ten plus and he's golden. For me, he would have given me what I need to start having faith in him.... something to offset the things I believe make him doubtful. IMO, the line should be 7.5. Honestly... I'm inclined to believe he could finish with 6 wins, lose recruiting momentum, and STILL be back next year. I think there will be a lot of folks who now defend him who change their minds.... I'm just not confident that UT's AD is willing to do whatever it takes to win championships.

2. Behr and some others (me) said it's not how the MAJORITY feel. You're a smart guy, I have no doubt that you truly understand the difference in the two.
Honest question. Have I ever claimed a majority? I can't speak for how the majority feel. But there are at least a pretty noisy contingent here who do feel that way. Their posts communicate it. Do they "wish" for championships? Sure. But they don't expect them.

Seriously, your suprised by that? America is dividing into group arguing about which bathroom people should use.

Well, I don't know what to say. There are a few here that I enjoy talking to whether we always agree or not, just because I think we understand each other. Wish there were more.

Thanks!

Not sure.
But you definitely cited "too many of us UT fans accept mediocrity and that's why" last night.
That might be true if we were UF or blah blah. But we're not.

Fan opinions play almost no role here.
Is Blackburn AD? He was bought for the popular choice among fans. Not saying me but definitely the popular choice. Big Jim and his group of companions make the decisions they want. Accusations that we fans are responsible for anything, is just false.

We havent wont 10 games since 2007. Butch isnt getting fired if we win 10 games. He wont get fired if we win 9 games. His seat is very hot with an 8 win season, but he could still survive.

Nope. If fans don't show up or watch on TV or buy merchandise... or even frequent sites like this one... it influences the decision makers.

The AD comparison is a poor one. We see the product of the football coach live and in public. We know almost nothing about how one AD conducts his job compared to another. Any evaluation that a fan could make is indirect.

There is no mass amount of fans that will stop going to games because of who the coach is. I attend one game each year and will skip this year, because i recieved Navy/Army tickets. Im not a CBj fan but it has nothing to do with deciding to spend 1500 to attend a game.

I actually gave vfb a like lol.
Take this as my response also sjt.
I've told you before, I enjoy college football. It's a game, not life or death. It's one of the few things, outside family that I truly enjoy. I will never waste a moment boycotting games or starting petitions. Seriously, lighten up, it's college sports.

I know you're right about that, but that's just not me or how my mind works. Maybe surprised isn't the right way to put it but I don't understand why people find so many things to be worked up over.
Some people actually seem to be happy if they're unhappy, if that makes sense?
I'm just usually in a really good mood and don't fret over things that don't concern me or that I have no control over.
