Im the exact same. I laugh every time i see a comment on here with, miserable life, try to smile etc.. its funny how much people get worked up over internet chatter.

I'll try to keep that in mind. I think we've had some fun back and forths but did believe that you concerned yourself too much over things out of our control -coaching. But JP brought up a great point the other day, as he usually does, we just see words, not expressions or hear the tone of voices.
I'll picture a slight smart-ass smirk from now on lol.

I've told you before, I enjoy college football. It's a game, not life or death. It's one of the few things, outside family that I truly enjoy. I will never waste a moment boycotting games or starting petitions. Seriously, lighten up, it's college sports.

It's funny that sjt said these people accepting mediocrity makes him sick. I wonder if it actually does affect his health? It must because that comment DIRECTLY implied that it does.

7 AND 5 OR 8 AND 4 the next 2 to 3 years and his job is safe he knows if he wins 8 and win the bowl over a over rated little 10 team his job is safe, 8 w ins will fill the seats and get the hype going for the next year and when you fill the seats the MONEY will come in and i hope you know its about the money not the fans as a fan of 49 years i know 1 thing the money is what its all about doesnt matter what we the fans think and the magic number for wins is 8.:thud:

I'm not sure 8-4 Will continue to fill the seats and or bring the money in. He has 1 more of those IMO.

This board has gone to sh*t. It's like groundhog day with "fire butch" "how many wins or he's fired "etc posts. This off season is going to be brutal on here if we are already to these types of posts and it's only June.. 😧😧

No reason to fire him unless an sure bet coach is found. Sure bet coaches cost money. Administration will not go that route. If this is true just keep what you have and hope he is improving with time.

It is not about a specific number of wins. As long as doners give and fans fill seats he will be here. If he wins less than 8 and a bowl the fans will start giving up on him, unless he brings in a top ten recruiting class. Everyone will wait to see what a top ten class will bring except the negas. To get a top ten class he will likely need 9 wins plus a bowl win.

I would say he gets canned if he loses more than 5 or 6 games this year. With a less experienced and less talented team in 2017, this is Butch's and his assistants opportunity to prove their worth. If they can have the level of success we have had the past few years it will give us reason to believe the coaches are getting better. But if they fall off and lose more games it will be more proof that they dont have what it takes to be top level coaches.

I guess I'm meety okra(veterans on here will get it). I think he is pretty secure and will be here thru the 2018 season unless something drastic happens like 5 or less wins or scandal or something like that.
Now to be honest, I always want championships and the Big Orange should be winning them but this year is probably an 8--10 win season. That will keep him here whether some like it or not.
