we could win six and he ain't going anywhere...now, having said that...if we only win six the following year, then Mr. Currie will light a fire under his azz...:)

GO VOLS!

If those six wins were Florida, Georgia, LSU, Missouri, Kentucky,Vanderbilt, and we won the SECe with a 6-6(6-2) record, and toppled Alabama in an SECCG rematch, then yeah, I could see that as being possible.:dance2:

9-4 is our all-time winning %.
Can't fire anybody for that.

Sure. Because that average was the every year result rather than coaches that won more pulling the average up from coaches who won less... and were rightly fired.

For Behr and some of the others who've been arguing with me about some here accepting mediocrity... this is exactly what it looks like. According to this guy, a coach who peaks at the historic school average for wins... can't be fired.

This is a dumb post!!! Not only is it dumb, but it is destructive to the very football team you profess to love! You know we are recruiting at a very high level right now, and then you make such an idiotic post! How is a post like this going to help? Thread should be deleted!

Can we delete the App St, Vandy, and USCe games while we're at it... since we're deleting stuff that hurts recruiting. Let's throw in OU, UF, and Arkansas from 2016. Oh yeah, we need to delete the two blowout losses to Bama while we're at it.

Shoot yeah! Let's just delete all the bad stuff and UT will have a crystal football to show recruits.

Stopped reading past your first one. Absolutely asinine.

10-2 with a bowl loss is not going to get him fired.

Heh, no kidding. 10-2 would probably come with another extension and raise. Going 10-2 would mean that we at least beat 2 or 3 out of Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and LSU.

1. 9-3 is actually above school average and it's highly unlikely that would get him fired. Just reality.

2. Behr and some others (me) said it's not how the MAJORITY feel. You're a smart guy, I have no doubt that you truly understand the difference in the two.

9-4 means no trips to Atlanta. Are you fine with that from now on? If not, please explain.

When you say "can't fire anyone for that", would you, or do you mean you don't think an AD can?

Come on man, tell us what you mean by this. I don't think it means you are "settling for mediocrity". If you are, I'll be happy to apologize to sjt.

Sjt, if he doesn't answer, I will assume you are correct, but I'm also gonna hold firm with....that's one. I still believe there are less than you think there is.

Anything but making the CFP is a firing offense, he's been here long enough

10-2 with a bowl loss and do not win the East is a firing offense.

10-2 with a bowl win but do not win the East is a firing offense

9-3 with a bowl win. Not fired but on the hot seat for many of the VN folks

8-4 with a bowl win Hot Seat from UT

Anything less than 8 wins.....He gone.

No chance that He will be fired this season.

That gets pitched a lot. I'm starting to think many don't really understand exactly where that ends up.

Then again, some may not care and be totally fine with 8 and a bowl game against a mediocre opponent.

This poll has been up for hours now.

There are more than 2,000 VN members logged on.

The thread has been glanced at well over 1,000 times.

Only about 50 bothered to take part.

Not 500. Fifty (50).

Really fail poll. Completely failed to address the range of responses the community encapsulates.

I would also like to add, if this is how you feel and you're fine with 9-4, that's fine with me. I don't feel the same but It doesn't make me sick. I'll be fine and won't let it effect my life in any way.

Agreed. The stopping point is kind of odd.

How is 10 wins a firing offense but less than 10 wins is not?

My opinion - 6 wins he is fired.
7 wins or more he is not fired.

Funny with all this negavol nonsense going around these its hard to have a real conversation because you either love CBJ or want him to die. I actually like him and think he has done enough to deserve at least one more year, i just dont think he is a cery good football coach.

I can't come up with a realistic possibility that would change my mind. No Atlanta and I don't really care what the record is.

*If no Atlanta and he doesn't get fired, I will not come here and beech and moan like some are doing now.

Dude, I just had the same thought.

The majority add something along the lines of "so far" or "but" etc. meaning they're ok because they believe better is coming.

However, when there's a majority, there is also a minority. There will always be an extreme. Go 6-6, some will say "he's still my coach".

11-1, some, "he botched 12-0, so sick of this". People be crazy.

Because don't all recruits say; ya know, I was going to UT until I read that fanatic post from that fanatic fan on that fanatic message board.

Lighten up Francis, message board posts from fans rank about 197th on the list of 200 reasons to go (or not) to a University for a recruit and their families.
