6 years full length of contract

That's probably the worst case scenario.. If he stays 6 years and gets fired, that means we were bad for 6 years. If he's good he will get an extension and be here longer than 6 years. The only other way it happens is if he's really good and leaves for another job after 6 years. That wouldn't necessarily be bad if we could get 6 good years out of him, but its highly unlikely that he would leave for another school by choice. We could compete with anyone in a bidding war if we wanted to keep him.

I agree with you that if he's head coach for 6 years he will probably be doing good enough to get an extension.

We didn’t compete in this hiring process so I’m not sure White would compete in a bidding war down the road.

I think if Heupel ends up being good enough for another school to want to hire him away from us, White would bust out the checkbook to keep him around. Hiring a brand new coach is an unknown. You're always taking a gamble. After 6 years, you know what you have.. and you will be more likely to shell out more money to keep it.

They said we were going to bust out the checkbook this time. There were at least 5 or 6 coaches worth 6-8 million IMO. Did every single one of them tell us “No”. I doubt we checked with all of them.

Until the program isn't seen as a poorly run, toxic waste dump by the coaching community. My guess is that Heupel is our forever coach. He will never leave us.

Just following the trends...his as a coach, and ours at picking them.

The Nega's are 3-0 so far.

You cannot follow a Coach's trend off 3 yrs careeras a HC, in a pandemic year where he lost 11 players. He lost 3 games by 8, 1 and 3 with the 3 pt loss coming to Luke Fickle and Cincinnati..8 pt loss to a Tulsa team that tied with Cincy for 1st in the AAC.Then by 1 pt to an 8-3 Memphis team. Their lone blowout loss was to BYU. That's the stupidish $hit I've read on here all day. There's no damn trends that involve Heupel.

It’s not nearly as dumb as the the word “stupidish”, or the way you used it.

You seem swell. Have a great day!
