How good will NC State be?

They will be better than people on this board think.

BUT, I think they have potential to be ranked because of their schedule. They have a shot at winning their division, IMO

I agree. Over in NC the thought is NC State will be in top of conferebnce

The one thing that humors me the most about the NC State fans I have talked to, is how much they think Amerson can do against our Touchdown Trifecta. They believe he can singlehandedly stop JH DR and CP. Amerson is just one player and with him playing cornerback, it is pretty darn hard to cover two other receivers on the other side of the field. Now if he played Free Safety, I might believe the hype because Eric Berry could/can singlehandedly stop a whole receiving corps from anywhere. But. With him being limited to one side of the field at a time, and with NCState running mostly zone defenses...I can't see their defense holding all of our receivers at once. Also considering that Bray goes Sandusky on any zone defense he faces.
:loco:

Don't forget that we blow against the acc and in the ga dome.

This is really my biggest concern. It's been more than a decade since we have won in the GA Dome. And we have lost to more than a couple of ACC teams there in that time: Maryland, Clemson, and VT come to mind.

I despise that place. I swore off the GA Dome after the last VT game. I will be watching this one from home.

I keep hearing this idea that the Georgia Dome has some effect on the Vols. That is just silly. There is nothing there that causes UT to lose except better teams and bad coaching. Go back and watch the games we played there, it wasn't magical. We were stacked against a better team, who wanted the win more. It isn't voodoo.

NCSU will have a good team this year. We will still win the game in a big way, and the GA dome myth will go away.

You criticize NC State fans for overstating the value of their CB while you're simultaneously stating that Eric Berry could "singlehandedly stop a whole receiving corps from anywhere". Way to stay objective. :eek:lol:

True but there's a little difference between the ACC and the SEC.

Over the past decade or so that difference has been that the ACC has consistently kicked UT's a$$. Some of you should keep that in mind as you continue to look down on the ACC conference. UT isn't NEARLY as good as it once was, and we can't afford to take ANYBODY lightly.

If its a toss-up, then TN is in for a long season.

"the Pack will have to rebuild the defensive line and linebacker corps."

Since UT can't run the ball, those are the best areas to be weak if you're playing against the Vols.

JH and DR have nfl frames. They are better WRs. It has nothing to do with Watkins not being a Vol. It has everything to do with him being 6' and a speedster which are not generally big shots in the nfl at the WR position. He also could he shorter than 6'. JH and DR have also ran more NFL routes. Again, I'll go with those two any day of the week.

Steve Smith seems to be making a decent living, and he's 5'9". Wes Welker, also 5'9", sucks as well.

My comment was in reference to the comment that NCS and UT could have the same record this year. I never compared us to anyone. The point was that the competition is tougher in the SEC.
