How good is Wright State ?

I graduated with my masters at WSU, live and teach 10 miles away so I know them pretty well. In all honesty they remind a lot of our vols although we should be more talented at every position. They don’t make a lot of mistakes and are consistent, good inside player who’s a freshman but only playing b-ball because he blew out his knees playing football.... yeah not sure how b-ball is easier on the knees but who mnows. Benzinger who’s dad played for the Reds is their leader and best player, great defender and high motor guy, they play inside out motion and make great cuts, like us.... I don’t know that they have an answer at all for Admiral, he should carry us and I think Lamonte should be a guy they can’t handle because of his dribble drive / jump shot ability. They are a solid team and play as a team. With that said they don’t hold a candle to anyone including Vandy in the SEC.

Not sure I can agree with you. Pons doesn't look ready. He's almost one of those guys you don't even know he's on the court because he isn't going to shoot, doesn't rebound very well and I saw him get blown by on defense a lot today. I say put Daniel in for Bowden.

He’s pretty good at shot blocking.

He’s athletic as hell but it seems like he’s afraid to shoot the ball.

Wrong here they play a physical brand of basketball as well, we will beat them because of talent not because of effort or physicality jmo though
Wright St. doesn't look to shabby to me...looked pretty good and Tennessee better take them that way or they will exit the tourney after the first game....

Pons is a disrupter. He is an excellent defender but not ready yet offensively. Fulkerson is starting to regain his old quickness and durability. The man hustles and should be a factor next season, I like Pons, Fulkerson and the other freshman big man - forgot name. Barnes can evaluate talent no doubt about it.

There’s not very many teams that have an answer for Admiral. Hopefully we can keep him healthy and out of foul trouble.

Forgot all this politically correct one game at a time crap lol. What do we know about Miami ??

Hubris showing much there JohnnyReb? If Barnes and this team looks past them like you do I will be very surprised as I don't think that is in their make-up.

Saw they’ve got a 6’9” 300lbs freshman who puts up a double double each game...

I wonder if he can run the way our "bigs" can? Hopefully after this game he'll be wishing he had dropped the 20-30 lbs. the coach probably asked for last fall.

They're really not. Northern KY Univ is

By any objective measure Wright State is better, they beat NKU twice in the regular season, had a better overall record and won the conference tourney and the NCAA bid. BTW I had to look all that up :)

I wouldn't say by any objective measure. NKU did win the regular season Horizon League championship

He's listed as 6'9" 275, so who knows. All I'll say is, while we can't overlook anyone in the tournament, if we lose to this team it will be a massive failure. Our bracket sets us up with two very winnable rounds. If we can make it to the sweet 16, I see no reason we couldn't make it past a Cincy to meet UVA in the elite 8.

Fun fact, the only two teams higher than us in Kenpom adjusted defensive efficiency are Cincy and UVA, and we may play them both.

His remark and attitude is correct and the whole team better be looking at it the same way...in some ways they resemble UK and we better be ready or we will be sitting red faced and complaining....Wright State is good and excited to prove themselves...and they figure they could not have gotten a better draw than Tennessee because they see us as very beatable....that is my take...
