How do we sellout vs KY and not Mizzou?

Not just talking about Tennessee, I'm talking about fans in general. The gameday experience is awesome, but the comfort factor is becoming more and more of an issue. I know many people who go to the gameday activities (tailgate, Vol Walk, etc) but go home or to a bar to watch the game.

I grew up in western NC.
I grew up in western Missouri and live in eastern North Carolina.

Wish I could be there for the game this weekend, but I've traveled to two already this year. Had a great time in Knoxville two years ago.

Good luck this weekend.

We've had more sellouts this year than we have since 2007. Winning brings fans--people who enjoy the entire gameday atmosphere than sitting at home and watching at tv... because there is an enormous difference.

But you aren't wrong in saying that there are a lot of people who would rather watch on tv.

I am sick and just now getting better. At 38 the idea of sitting in the cold and maybe rain. and taking a chance of getting really sick is not worth it when I can watch it on a TV in my house or at a sports bar. Honestly if the stadium was indoors I would be there.

Me too. I was able to catch the game in COMO last year.

Mizzou fans were nice... but they'll get over it. :)

Where in eastern North Cackalacky do you live?

They have been offering promo codes for military and other groups. If they don't sell out I would assume they will offer a promo code to the public.
How do you get a military promo code? I flew in from Europe for this game. Will be my 3rd attempt at attending the Missouri game. First year I was sent for training unexpectedly, last year I was deployed. I refused to go another season without seeing a home game.

SIAP but IMO it comes down to money and how it’s spent. For me personally it’s a 10 hour drive. Gas, Hotel, Tickets, etc easily rack up 300+. I come to K-Town about once a year. I'm not going to spend that kind of money on Mizzou, 5 days before thanksgiving, and in the rain when I can watch it on my couch and get a better view.

I’m sure I’ll get called a negavol for this but it’s the same story for the majority that are not in decent driving distance from Knoxville or have disposable income for all games.

I said something similar a couple of days ago....and today at 6am I found myself Knoxville bound with flags flyin haha.

Combination of weather and AJ

The weather is about 14 degrees warmer than the Kentucky game. No rain predicted. So it's not the weather.

If people aren't going because of AJ...um...okay?

No, the reason is because Mizzou returned about 2/3 of their allotment and we're now trying to sell those.

Really? I saw 10% chance of rain that evening (with a looming 100% as soon as the next day begins), and a high on the day in the 50s.

Really? 10% and 0% are practically the same. No two weather reports will be exact the same. 10% is well within the margin of error for a weatherman.

Thanks for your service and dedication to the USA and the Vols!

1.There was a lot of blue in the stands for the Ky game.
2. Lexington is like a 3 hr drive from K-ville.
3. Columbia is a 9 hr drive.

Geez! The upper deck on the south side is going to be thin.

Their not a better team.

This response makes no sense to me. How are we a better team? Based on what?

They've won more games. They beat Florida and we didn't. They are nationally ranked and we aren't. If we are the better team then it really shouldn't be an upset if we win. I realize we're favored but that actually shocks me.

Against a candy schedule.

Look a little deeper into those numbers. You're likely to NEVER again in your life see a team win much less score 42 pts while having less than 140 yards of O.

that has absolutely no bearing one who will win or actually which between these two is the best team at this juncture of the season.

Many won't consider it too much of an upset.

Yeah... that's not surprising either. UT has better players. UT is playing much better on O and better than MU's avg opponent on D. The question mark is how much impact AJ's absence will have.

Does Missouri travel well? I saw a lot of Kentucky fans last week..

We do actually travel really good...not as good as you guys or bama..but well above average.

I left columbia,mo this morning...drove straight here and it only took 9 hours. There were 5 of us. I personally know of about 70 people coming from columbia.

I am really impressed with down town knoxville, it is very nice. We checked in at the holiday inn off henley and were getting ready to go down to calhouns until i looked into a magazine and saw the following words-- PRIME RIB AND SEA FOOD BUFFET!! the restaurant in the the Crown Plaza was really good...I had my fair share of crab legs. .prime rib..salmon. ..and etc.

It was really cool because when I was there, the UT football team was meeting in the banquet rooms right next to the restaurant. ..there were curtains set up, but I was able to see some of your players up front and close. By the way your qb is ALOT taller than I thought.
Well.. been a great time so far. Like all of the SEC road games that I have been to since the move, the people have been very nice. Much different than traveling back in the day in the little 12 ...people usually more confrontational rather than showing hospitality.
Where do we need to go tomorrow for the SEC GameDay show., I can not find it on line

You need to go to Ayres Hall which is on top of The Hill.

Two ways to walk there. First one is faster with less hills, second is easier to explain.

From your hotel, turn right onto Clinch Ave and walk towards campus. Then take a left on 11th St and then turn right, directly in front of the parking garage (white ave.) Immediately past the garage take a left and walk across the pedestrian bridge, and exit to the right of the stairs. Now you're on The Hill. Just keep walking up until you find everyone. Ayres Hall will be on the right and is the building with a big clock tower with checkerboard bricking underneath.

Or exit your hotel and walk straight down to Cumberland Ave. Take a right onto Cumberland. Eventually on the left you'll see a big sign that says University of Tennessee The Hill. Take a left when you see the sign and walk up.

It's about a 5-8 minute walk from your hotel.

SEC Nation will air from The Hill in front of Ayres Hall from 10a-12p. Ayres Hall physical address is Ayres Hall, 1403 Circle Dr, Knoxville, TN 37916.

What section are you all sitting in at the stadium.

Thank you! We are in section A

This is absolutely true. And I don't get it, either.

Y'all rival Nebraska fans on the arrogance scale. It's like the last two years of Mizzou/Tennessee didn't happen.

Every fanbase has it's arrogant people here or there. I'd imagine if we went on a Missouri fansite, we'd have the same ratio of arrogant twats to solid fans that anyone other team has

AJ's absence and missing Brian Randolph, the team's second leading tackler, for the first half worries me. We also have some banged up players on offense too. These are factors to consider going into this game. I just can't expect a banged up UT team to beat Mizzou and not call it an upset. All of this hype we're getting and nobody is giving Missouri any credit. I think our defense matches up pretty well with their offense. However, they have a strong interior line and overall a stingy defense. Our offense will be challenged this week. I'm just ready for game time.
