how do we match up with umass?

I wonder if Josh is quick enough to stay with their PG. We've had trouble with good PGs this season and this may be the best one we've faced. Hopefully Stokes stays out of foul trouble again. He gave up some buckets to their 7 footer but at least he wasn't fouling.

Tennessee can pound them on the boards. UMass fans wanted to face Iowa because they thought that they matched up better against them.

Got some good experience against Releford and Wilbekin

Any thoughts on how last night's game affects prep for UMass? Is fatigue actually a concern at this point? If so, what does the team do today to recharge their batteries?

Probably ought to switch over to Energizer

Edit: More seriously, did they travel last night or are they doing that now? Would be nice for them to already be there and getting settled

They have some height and a couple of guys who can muscle up with Stokes and Maymon.

Their big scorer is 5'9" 170 lbs.
Stokes should have him out of the game 1/2 way through the 1st half!

Listening to TSR at lunch all they were talking about is how does TN match up with Duke. Afraid people (and the team) may be taking UMASS for granted.

I'm most concerned about the times when Barton sits. If their PG is as quick as it sounds, he'll abuse Thompson when he's spelling Barton. I wouldn't be surprised if we almost exclusively play 1-3-1 when Thompson is in.

PG is good but his stats are inflated by volume. He averages 16ppg but he does it on 39% FG. They play fast and get lots of possessions. We will play slow on offense and they will get fewer possessions than normal. Our length will cause him problems. They are Iowa only not as talented nor as deep. We need to pick up where we left off in the second half and we will be hard for them to beat.

They want to play a fast game and wear out our bigs. They think they can run it down our throats.
They think we're cocky but not any good at all.

Here's one quote from their msg board :

"I'm probably going to get hammered for saying this... But I think we need Tyler in this game...

If he can give us 6 (is that too much to ask for) DECENT minutes off the bench where he can just body up Stokes and foul him hard 5 times and hit the showers I will be happy with that.. We need to wear him down so that he becomes pretty much useless at the end of the game a la JOB3 in the LSU game..

I don't want to waste Cady & Maxie fouls on trying to stop Stokes."

Others agree that they want Tyler on Stokes and Maymon and fouled hard and run up and down court to tire them out so they can drive the paint and draw fouls early, then foul them out in the last several minutes.

Stokes and Maymon better bring their big boy pants cause it's gonna be a rough game.

This will be one of those games we get the lead early and never give it up.
Have beaten several better teams than this one in the SEC.
I know. Don't brag on um.
