You are right, I did not.
I just used famous names that everyone is familiar with.
I compared age and that people don't forget FB just because they weren't on the sidelines for a bit.

I was hoping this was obvious and I didn't have to explain.. oh well.

Recruiting will not take a huge hit. We will be ok people. Do you really think Butch will hire someone that will make him look bad. Just wait until UT has a press conference and announce the new OC. I have heard so many rumors on here it is unreal.

Here's a novel idea: since most of us are pleased with the progress of the team so far under CBJ and his recruiting is outstanding for a team that hasn't win more than 7 games in more than half a decade, how bout we simply trust him to know what he's doing when it comes to hiring assistants? JMO

I'll try again. I am not saying Debord is like anyone.
I am saying age doesn't set a law that recruiting is out of the realm of possibility.
Nor am I approving him, I will not run scared if he is hired just because some have suggested we should.

You need to slowly read what the man posted. What he said makes sense. The comparison to Saban wasn't based on what you are thinking.

Honestly who did Jake recruit? Plus his playcalling was abysmal at times. All the sky is falling crap is ridiculous. Your oc doesn't need to be a great recruiter.

2. "Been out of coaching" - Meyer (obvious)
3. "It was UMs defense that won a championship
nobody ever wanted Debored" - UT fans.
Debord was the runner up candidate to Dave Clawson. When Clawson was hired, UT were actually upset that we didn't take Debord, no matter what they say about it now. Turns out, they were right to have wanted him over Clawson.

EDIT: Not comparing the coaches, just using examples to show age etc.. does not mean you can't recruit.
Used a famous example but feel free to sub with another older recruiter.

Now am I hoping he's hired? Nope. Not because I dislike him, I just want whoever will gel the best with the team. I'm not pulling for anyone.

A few will debate the items in this post. And that's fine, I could do the same myself.
The point being, don't let others scare you into "all is lost" on any hire. If this is Butchs offense, their main job will just be to call which play that was pre-approven by CBJ.
*If it's Debord, He may suck or do ok. But that's pretty much the case for any OC trying to run someone elses offense.

Just a few things here. Saban has been a WINNER everywhere he has coached, having only 2 losing seasons in his whole career. Also he has been consistently employed as a HC since 1995. Meyer was out of football for a TOTAL of 2 years.

Michigans defense was responsible for the NC. They were the nations #1 ranked defense. That season UM had neither a 1000 rusher nor 500 yard WR. Griese threw for 2200 yards and 17 TD's. Sorry but you chose the wrong facts to argue with.

As far as facts, here are the ones I gave.

Age of 2 coaches.

That meyer left and didn't forget fb.

That UT fans once wanted Debord.

Only facts I used. Which one are you saying isn't true?
And prove it wrong or quit beating your chest.

I think with this hire we see a vast improvement on our oline at the very least and if that happens the sky is the limit. Azzani has been great on the recruiting trail but our WRs have been underwhelming...CB would be a huge upgrade coaching wise.
