I was most impressed by Estrella's defense, how quickly he got into correct positions, like protecting against screens. For a freshman, he looked well-prepared mentally, and was reading and reacting well to what his defensive teammates were doing.

He did that against Syracuse with several days of preparation. I guess we'll see today what he does with only hours of preparation.

This. and for a 6'11 guy he moved his feet and got low. I guess there is a reason he was the #33 player in his class. He, Cade and Tobe give us a nice interior trio looking forward.

I like Estrella and or Phillips being forced into action prematurely. We can’t make it the entire season with just Awaka and Aidoo. Neither is a complete package in the paint so we have to develop some depth. Barnes can use this game to build confidence. If you can play against Edey, you won’t face a bigger challenge the rest of the season. Literally.

It was so good to see JP play aggressively in that game. He has so much talent.

You can see the game is moving way to fast for both of the frosh post. Estrella needs some time. He'll be fine.

Tough, physical game early in the season. Hate the L, but we will not face a more physical team all season. Gainey got hot late. Wish we would shot better. Defense is good as you can desire. Need more offense.
