How about stop talking about a new Coach?

its not cyclical if you are a doormat. Vandy and UK say hello.

Several years ago, I had a buddy who spent four years living in Columbia, South Carolina. He said, all the cocks talked about was getting into the top-3 in the east. At that time, it was Flordia, UGA and us were the top-3 most years. Vandy, Kentucky and USCjr would be the bottom three. At the time, they thought their best chance to move into the top group was to knock out Georgia. Turned out, we imploded instead.

I think it is somewhat cyclical if you are in that top-3 mix.

We're not Vandy or Kentucky.

We aren't the doormat.

Kiffen screwed us. We can all agree?

Spurriers hire was key for SC. But how long did it take him to up that program?

We'll get it. We're Tennessee. But you have t be smart and you have to actually have money to fork it out.

I feel most Dooley hater would say fire him if his buyout was 50 million. Pretty easy to say fire him and pay the buyout if you're not the one spending the money.

If Dooley is back next year, UT will be lucky to average 60,000 fans per game. People are not going to continue to pay big money for trips to Knoxville every Saturday to see us lose every game against decent competition. We can't afford to fire Dooley?

We dang sure cant afford to keep him.

Alabama and Florida are not coming to Knoxville next year. Their fans won't be buying up the unused tickets. Their fans won't be buying hotel rooms or eating out. Those seats, rooms, and restaurants will be empty.

I hate to see anyone fail but Dooley is in over his head. We have joined the bottom feeders of the SEC. That is unacceptable.

Well that's an interesting thought. I can see how you feel that way. But MAYBE and consider with me, that he was never given a chance, the majority of the fans hate him for not being top 5. Usually when you're so unliked and not trusted from the get go, you tend to not put yourself in the spotlight so much. You do your job the best you can. He's had a lot of adversity to fight through ad no support from anyone really. I know that in my life when I'm getting attacked from left and right I'm not in the best of moods and the easiest to work with. Constant criticism isn't going to make anyone seem more personable. Having 5* players 3 deep is going to make your job a lot easier and give you more time for luncheons and fundraising during a season. It's a hard thing for him to have undertaken. If he were to succeed, I'm sure he'll become more of the local, outgoing person than he is now. He has a lot of weight on this shoulders.

I feel so sorry for Precious.

OP, quit making excuses. If we had a top notch coach we could have won the Georgia, USC, and MSU games. I could even make the argument for the Florida game. We have a guy that doesn't win. Time to move on.

NO NO NO..Dooley's had 3 years@ 2mil/year..his time is up 0-5 in SEC 3 years in a row...time to move on. I said it many times we will have to have a coach that can recruit with the Big Boys if we want to compete with them. 3 star recruits work out some times but we've got to have some 4-5 star players as well, like Ala, Florida,LSU,Georgia and yes Auburn if we expect to win championships. Recruits see what's going on and don't want to committ to UT because of Dooley's record and the rumors surrounding him....would you?

Leadership. Courage. Character. Respect. Genius.

Some have these traits. Some don't

It is obvious in those who have them; you know the moment they step onto the scene.

It is also obvious that those who have never developed those abilities cannot simply turn a switch on and become what they have never been.

No no and no. Dooley has had long enough to prove whether or not he could get it done here I'm sorry but winning these last 4 games doesn't mean **** that should be the bare minimum at Tennessee. Everyone said year 3 we would know well guess what times up!
