Starting to figure out the different arrows. Shooting the blaze canister with a fire arrow and having it explode off a machines back is badass

Loving this game it's a top 3 game of all time for me. Even the side quests are in depth

I'm not sure if I'm ready to go THAT far just yet but it's easily top 3 this generation for sure. The game is just so polished! I hope there's DLC.

As far as PS4 exclusives go, here's how I'd rank the top 10...

1.) Horizon Zero Dawn
2.) Uncharted 4
3.) Ratchet and Clank
4.) Bloodborne
5.) The Last of Us Re mastered
6.) Uncharted Collection
7.) MLB The Show
8.) NiOh
9.) Until Dawn
10.) DriveClub

Honorable mention: Infamous Second Son/First Light

dang it! I'm waist-deep in Bloodborne currently and it's too good to put down for something new and shiny. This is sounding like a must-buy

My top 3 all time is the last of us, zelda the ocarina of time, and horizon. Haven't played uncharted 4 yet but the first 3 are masterpieces

TLoU
RDR
UC4

Depending on how these two turn out, they could be in that top list as well or even at the top 2 spots: HZD and Zelda: BoTW

Just finished the main campaign last night. My game of the year so far without question! I'm going to go back and try to finish all the side missions and platinum this *****!

It's been a while since I have thoroughly enjoyed a game as much as I have this one. It makes you want to explore every nook and cranny, complete every side quest, clear every zone, so much fun. Hell, I've restarted at the checkpoint next to the Thunderjaw site so many times because it's just fun to fight it. So glad I picked this up after being extremely disappointed in FF15.

I was not interested in this game at all. But, I got it after watching some streams and hearing positive things.

I'm really enjoying it. I'm in no hurry to finish the story. I just keep doing whatever side missions pop up. It's a really great game. I suspect I'll be playing it for awhile.

Just curious, why weren't you interested in it? I was blown away the first time it was unveiled at E3 2 years ago. Are you just not much of an RPG fan?

I'm not the biggest fan of RPGs or crafting games. I'm not a dinosaur fan nor do I really care about using a bow and arrow. The trailers I saw looked boring to me.

But, I still gave it a shot and watched some streams. Everyone loved it so I grabbed a copy. Why not? And now I've got 20-30 hours in so far. Great game.

Got this a few days ago. While it is very "Ubisoftish" I must admit, I'm enjoying it. The storyline and setting are new and interesting; which is Horizon's saving grace... the gameplay, not so much.

It has that Ubisoft recycled formula after taste; where things like game mechanics, menus, and systems seem a little too familiar. This game feels very much like Far Cry in 3rd person, IMO.

I'm sure this doesn't bother many, but I don't like it. If I'm going to drop $60, I want a brand new experience from top to bottom.

Can't say I agree. I think the first 15-20 hours here are great. Perhaps its not the best laid out to teach the player how to play, but it provides a good challenge and lots of ways to beat it.

Then it starts getting a bit old on the fetch missions. Still, the story and main story mission are good stuff. And I think controls are pretty darn good.

Horizon $hits all over those soulless, cookie-cutter, designed by committee in a boardroom Ubisoft games.

The game menus, world map, crafting system, and weapon /item wheel all appear to be directly taken from Far Cry and given a face lift. I sometimes think I'm playing Farcry when I'm on the map!

The bandit camps = exactly like Far Cry.

Areas can be opened up with the puzzle climbs - exactly like Ass Creed.

Aloy's climbing is exactly like Ass Creed.

See what I mean?

Maybe it's unfair to call out Ubisoft for doing this because other developers, like From Software, do the same things...

Yeah I mean, if we're being honest, name the last game in the last 10 years that wasn't some kind of derivative of another game. A game doesn't have to re invent the wheel to be great though. It's the execution that matters and to me, that's what makes Horizon so good. It's an amalgamation of different games and mechanics that come together extremely well wrapped up in a good story and gorgeous visuals.

For me though the combat is the real star of the game. It just feels so damn good! I'm playing on very hard and the other night I fought my first "thunderjaw." It took me 2 whole day/night cycles to bring him down! It was a ***** but when I finally got that kill shot it was so satisfying!

Finished this game with platinum trophy earlier. Really fun game, awesome story, but final boss fight was disappointing. Looking forward to the dlc

After I had posted recently in the PS5 thread that I don't ever finish Sony exlusives, I decided to finish this today and got the platinum, after all these years. I tend to agree that the final boss fight was a bit underwhelming.
