So who's everyone's teams? Super stoked about Senzel debut in Cincy this weekend! Hope he can avoid the nasty injury bug that has followed him so far!

Always been StL fan, the strike has killed my interest unless cards are just killin it tho.

The Gwinnett Buttons (Presently misnamed by backassward management as the Stripers. I will not recognize this, as Buttons secured the most votes and was my suggestion before the public was invited to vote upon the finalists. In the fine print, the management did reserve the right to name the team something other than the public's choice. Fascist pigs.) are 15-10 and atop the International League South, 1/2 game ahead of Charlotte.

The Gwinnutians have taken the first two in their current three-game series at Charlotte and will play the final game today. In mid-April, the visiting Nees took 3 of 4 from their hapless hosts. We hope for a sweep to return the favor.

Since the MLB Braves moved to Cobb County and have repeatedly refused to return to their original name (Bees), I ignore the overpriced league and give what little attention I spare baseball to the last bastion of America's game, the minor leagues.

Yes, I grew up a true baseball fan and followed the Braves since they moved to Atlanta in 1966 (I attended one of the exhibition games in 1965 - my first MLB game.). The MLBPA strike in '94-'95 wrung it out of me. Having attended playoff and WS games in prior years, I did not even watch the Braves win the 1995 WS on TV. Though friends got me to attend a few games at Turner Field (the crown jewel of MLB parks when it debuted) over the ensuing years, my heart wasn't with the Braves anymore. The public snit between Braves management and the Atlanta Fulton County Recreational Authority was so ugly, petty, and embarrassing (fault aplenty on both sides), it dug the grave which was filled when the Braves cut the deal to move to Cobb County. I won't set foot in that place.

I'm a Yankees fan. However, it's been along time since I've paid attention to any baseball.
me too - tend to follow in the Yankees thread on here and will watch Yankee games on TV from time to time -- Im also glad Senzel is finally making his debut

Hey Freak!!!! Bro, can we get a Sub-forum up in here for the non-sport sports threads like this one and the golf threads like we did for the Bracketology in the movie forum? Some of us don't want the Zone cluttered with crap like this.

Or, just move them to the Pub.

TIA.

Grew up at fan of the Reds back in the late 70s. I was stationed in Fort Worth in the early 90s and became a Rangers fan. I honestly haven't followed it since the mid 90s.when the strike cancelled the world series that did it for me.

I've tried to get into it several times and can't. I'll turn it on, but it's basically just background noise.

No, nothing like Behr. Didn't gas before that strike, Dgaf after it. Would never even have the 7th game of the World Series on as background noise unless I had a choice between it and whatever the golf equivalent of that is. Then it's GO Preds!!

I used to absolutely love baseball, but the strike kibda stole the passion. I still watch occasionally, and have always favored the braves.

As a kid, I always wanted to hit like Aaron and pitch like Severs. Reggie Jackson was one of my all time favorites.

May have mentioned this... but will do again, it was cool.

Very first ball game for me to see as a kid was the Milwaukee Braves, had seats behind home plate. Hank steps into the batters box, and I jump up and yell, "Henry", so loud, that he stopped and looked back at me. Man that made my day.

I remember when Dicky Thon was hit in the face by a pitch and was out for more than a year. I went to the Braves game which marked his return to MLB (Braves fans didn't like Thon; he played so well against Atlanta at AFCS). My seats were behind the visitors' dugout. Before the game got underway, Thon stood on the field with another Astro at the edge of the dugout. I shouted out, "Hey, Dicky Thon, welcome back to baseball!" He turned towards me with a quizzical look. Folks around me cheered and clapped. He waived. Later, he told the press that he was touched by the welcome from Braves fans. He didn't think we liked him much (he was right).
