Hidden Keys to Victory: Pitt

I think it will all boil down to qb play; can he hit 60% of his pass plays, and not just 5 yd passes. if so I think we win, if not pitt will beat us we have to have a duel threat offense. Get good qb play we can win every game with the exception of bama, ga, and fla.

Middle finger to Florida Gators.

1. Rush for 250 yards.
2. Hold Pittsburgh to 150 or fewer rushing yards and get at least 5 quarterback sacks plus consistent pressure.
3. Milton throws for at least 250 to 300 yards.
4. Win turnover battle.

we need to be camped out on their backfield! QB pressure makes the difference this week

Win the turnover margin by +2 and run the football consistently. Really liked the blocking creativity of our running game last week and think that’s the key to coming out on top. I don’t trust our passing attack to carry us right now.

QB play is a big one. He had tons of time last week and struggled some. If he gets that same protection this week and still struggles we may have long term issues. Our RB’s did well and hope they continue to do so. Passing game has to step it up though.

Let’s quit playing these games. We all know what is gonna be the difference in this game. It’s if Joe Milton can move this offense and put pressure on the pitts defense. If he can’t then Pittsburg is gonna win by 2 or more tds. No offensive production means,
Our defense tires out
Pitts offense catches rhythm
The crowd is taken from the game.
We get blown out at home
Which makes for a very long week on volnation.

Can the O-line create a consistently clean pocket?
Can we scheme around what will be a couple of key players missing?
Conditioning against a competitive, power 5 team, considering the tempo we want to run and the fact that our D could be on the field a LOT.
GBO!!

Run the ball, then run is some more. In the 2nd half, run the ball.

/I kid. I have no idea what they will do. I just hope it works!

The biggest key to the game is whether or not Milton will play QB like Heupel hopes he’s capable of or statue like he did against BG. If our passing game is nonexistent then Pitt will pin their ears back. Game over.

Special Teams, Hipe pulls a fake punt that continues a drive for a TD and we put on a punt return and Velus takes one to the house!

It's really that simple. We win or lose based on how well or how crappy he plays.

That would be a blowout not just a win. Paige and Beasley are our linebackers against the pass. That linebacker rotation isn’t going to change in my opinion. They were in great position several times and nearly jumped the routes against BG and just missed them.

My worst fear is that Pitt's coach maybe knows this offense better than some of our players.

He will know which LOS adjustments are the most difficult to execute. So I expect in key defensive situations he will set us up, hoping to force us into one of those.

I also expect to see them try to jump some routes that they anticipate.

Our offensive line knows we have to first prove that we can hold the pocket against a 4-man pass rush. BUT... look for Pitt to bring some blitzes in the first series, trying to unsettle Milton and create some mental hesitancy among our blockers.

Gee. I feel terrible about this game, now. I should've never posted!

What are the chances of our TE getting a little passing game this weekend? Got to do something to freeze Pitts LB

How big a factor will field position play? Could be a major factor. Which team is able to sustain long drives when necessary?
