Up high in the zone don't know why it was happening but she was up on almost every pitch walked six in 4 innings. That inning was the best she has thrown. She has been down in the zone in most of the earlier game for some reason was throwing up in the zone and had a tough time with control. What was her mechanical problem?
What was her mechanical problem?
She was overthrowing. Arnold is a rhythm pitcher more so than Moss - when she gets in a rhythm she is tough. Vols4life speculated that cold weather affected her grip - if true it could mean she has a small hand and can't grip well in cold weather. Pure speculation of course but in New Mexico and Palm Springs, she pitched better during the day than at night for whatever reason.
For those fans that haven't been keeping up with softball this year and bash this team...just sit back and watch this team grow
I have kept up with this team in every game if you are referring to me.I was not bashing the team just making some realistic comments.Hopefully warmer weather will help the two pitchers they have that have some SEC potential to pitch better because giving up 18 runs to South Carolina does not bode well against the likes of Fla,Bama,Auburn,LSU,Texas A&M ,GA.
Yep think about it...in high school she could just blow it by batters...college she has to use the spin....she will be just fine though once she learns....seemed like today she did

I'm sure she will improve some. It just seems like we haven't had pitchers improve significantly from their freshman years. It seems that Abbott, Rhodes, Hosfield, Ivy and Ellen were pretty much as good as freshmen and sophs as they were as juniors and seniors. It seems like Gabriel did improve more but that was partly healing from her bad hip ( I assume?). Of course the verdict is still out on Moss and Arnold. And it is very possible my memory just sux:unsure:
