Heupel To Showcase Nico?

Nico will not start against Vandy unless Joe is hurt. That is Senior night and Joe has earned the right to start, just like he has started every game this year. Whether Nico plays will depend upon how the game goes. We do not want to be 7-5, 8-4 is the goal. Yes, I know it is Vandy and we should win, but you don't start your second-string players just because some in the media and some fans say "do it".

If CJH started Nico and we ended up losing the game, those of you who are saying start Nico, would be bashing CJH for throwing the game away. Let him coach.

But what would happen if Nico started and we put up 50 plus on Vandy?

He will not start and I doubt we put up 50 on Vandy unless it is a repeat of UCONN and the defense gets some quick touchdowns.

That is not meant to be a knock on either QB, just reality with the injuries we have at this time.

Edited to add - No one has scored 50 on Vandy this year. The most is 47. UGA only scored 37, Ole Miss 33.

If Joe throws for 250 and 3-4 TDs on Vandy, the haters here will insist it was Vandy and Nico would have doubled that amount and should start in the bowl game.

At this point they've gone over the edge and when/if Nico comes out next year and overthrows receivers or throws interceptions, they'll lose their minds calling for Merklinger and insist "he should be ready."

No QB who is not as electric as Hendon Hooker will ever be acceptable to these people. As my granny used to say, "They're ruint, completely ruint."

Heupel would be wise to showcase Nico's abilities these next two games to show our Commits that they are coming into a program that is still on the rise. We have some highly rated WRs/ skill players that we don't want them looking elsewhere. Need to get back to our feared high scoring passing attack that took a big hit during the Bazooka Joe reign. GO VOLS! Let's crush some Candy and win our Bowl Game!!!!
They are treating Nico like Harrison Bailey was treated when he was here. Heupel is looking for a new QB otherwise he would have played him. The coaches do not seem to think Nico has star quality!

Heupel will not showcase Nico. Nico will be benched like Harrison Bailey was with no chance to start. Heupel is waiting for a QB to show up that he likes!

How is Harry doing these days? Surely he has caught on somewhere and competing for the Heistman this year?

It's Vandy, we should put up 50, if Joe puts up 50
If Nico starts and puts up 50 on Vandy, we would have won the SEC if Nico would have started. Just looked how he shredded Vandy.
It's whatever narrative PPL are carrying, the answer aligns.

4th string walk-on at Louisville, I will not go back and bump threads calling for the 5* QB Harrison Bailey to start, from back in the Cornbread days.

🤣🤣🤣Padding stats at this point isn’t going to help.
Yeah, I know. Heup is a QB guy. He recruited Milton, played Milton over Hooker and Nico so he doesn’t want to be wrong and wants Milton to succeed. High school coaches couldn’t fix Milton, college coaches couldn’t fix Milton to include Heup. Heup has an ego so he’d like Milton to get drafted so he can say he’s put his last 2 QB’s in the NFL when he’s talking to future QB’s. Because of Milton’s arm strength some NFL QB guru is going to think he can fix Milton too. But, Milton doesn’t have it between the ears and that’s his greatest obstacle.
