that squirrel white/Joe Milton connection was sick. Imagine if Squirrel stayed and was on the field for the way Joey aired them out.

I think we did pretty well w/o Squirrel this year, but I didn’t want him to leave. You know who didn’t do well w/ Squirrel this year? FSU and their Army of mercenary portal guys. Grass isn’t always greener.

You should have your posting privileges revoked after that stupidity. Or, and I know this very difficult for many to comprehend on here, Tennessee doesn’t have the financial support that other teams do have and has to pick and choose what they can do. It isn’t hard to figure out why Tennessee targets high school recruits. They are cheaper than proven transfers but when they develop they are expensive to retain

A lot of those same ppl in thread will say “see I told ya so” when CJH is ultimately fired. I’m a lifelong fan and third generation alum. But I know when I’m being lied to by all the talking heads.

You are way off base. Heupel has zero issues with going to the portal. Do those making these comments not understand the NIL and the infinite portal have taking recruiting completely out of the coaching staff's hand. They can sell the program, tradition, chance to make it to the pros, any of that. Unless the money is provided, it absolutely DOES NOT MATTER whether the coach is a great recruiter or not.

So you are truly aware of how much money Heupel can spend vs other schools? I don’t mean the internet rumors and wish casting by fans, otherwise you have no idea how well he is or isn’t doing. Furthermore, it is quite clear we don’t have near the funding Ohio State, Texas Tech, Oregon, or the Texas SEC schools have so if you are expecting to compete with them then you are going to be disappointed

Heupel is more middle of the road than Dabo. Dabo signs an average of one transfer per year. Last year alone we signed Hood, Pendleton, and Moe who started. The year before, we signed Brazzel, McCoy, Heard, McMurray, Thomas, and Kitz. We get OK mileage out of them.

The difference this year is we changed coaches on defense and everyone wants to part ways.

Clemson got 2 or 3 more today (Wednesday). Rumors (yeah, I know) are that D.J. Lagway visited. We'll see if that pans out.

Wait what exactly is your point? Do you even know? You started the thread comparing Heupel to a coach who infamously refused to embrace the transfer portal but now you are saying that we don't have the money to compete in the NIL transfer portal. So WTF are you saying? That Heupel refuses to embrace the new reality of college football OR that he has not been given the resources to do so?

seems we've been pretty active w/ visits this past week. I'll reserve judgement. If we get good percentage of guys visiting, we'll have upgraded our team....who knows though!
