Kind of hard to vote on year 2 since the season hasn't even started. So I'll wait on my vote until after the season
I will say I was pleased with year 1. It was beyond my expectations, and was a few plays away from being a couple or 3 more wins.
That said, this year I think will be a great measuring stick on where we are going under Heupel. I think this coming year we will really find out what kind of coach he is. Not a lot of people are talking about it, but the loss of Velus Jones and Javonta Payton i think will end up hurting more than we realize. We also replace Cade on an OL that was already extremely thin with players and talent. Even with Hooker, Tilman and Small back on O, we have a lot of production lost. It'll be intersting to see if and how the freshman coming in can help and contribute.
Defense again will be a challenge. In fact, we really have to get a lot better on that side of the ball or we're looking at 6 or 7 wins at best next year.
I need to see a 9 win season this year to feel good about where we're headed under Heupel. I think a lot of it hinges on the coaching if we're going to get there. We aren't beating Bammer or UGA yet. But if we can 2 out of 3 against UF, Pitt and LSU, we can get to 9 and I don't think that's unreasonable if the coaches can get the most out of this team.
