UT wasn't willing to overpay him.... and they were right.
He has consistently indicated he wants to stay out west... UT isn't the only program he's given the cold shoulder.
Um... nope. He was as guilty as it looked. Regardless of whether Pruitt is the right coach or not... he was the wrong coach.
Butch Jones underperformed the talent on his roster every single year. He was a used car salesman and a terrible coach. Pruitt may have been the wrong replacement... but the only problem with firing Jones is that it didn't take place two years earlier.
I can agree with that. I would have loved to have seen Fuentes at UT. I think Brohm would have been a good fit. Satterfield has an uphill climb at Louisville but I thought he was a possible good fit for UT.
I don't think he had any interest in UT and knew he'd get an opportunity to "go home".
I respect Franklin more than like him... but there was way too much baggage for him to take the UT job. BTW... he just lost to Indiana in what his 5th year? PA has pretty good HS football. They've always been able to recruit nationally. He's still behind OSU.
You mean the guy who ran LSU down... then jumped to FSU... ran them down... then jumped to TAM?
LOL... WHAT?
We'll see. Doubtful... but we'll see.
And one of those guys... came from nowhere to make Iowa State a credible program. Could you name the coach at Cincinnati? He's probably about to go 4-0. How about Coastal Carolina?
The next Saban probably isn't a guy "everyone knows".
Leach...never heard the salary angle (ever).
Peterson...I bet he wouldn't be so in love with the West if Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Clemson came calling.
Schiano was publicly humiliated by a bunch of 19 yo Knoxville rednecks, best coach at the time or not.
Nick Saban also underperforms with his roster. Every coach does. Real coaches of football are in our high schools and cemeteries.
Memphis coach Fuente was the lesser of he and Norvell.
Kirby Smart was hired at Memphis until Fuente blew away the president (Raines I think) in his interview. Agree he would have gone home if he did well.
Indiana is one of many basketball schools who'd beat us. North Carolina, Memphis, Kentucky, Duke most years, Kansas (soon).
I can't name the coach at Cincinnati but Memphis' coach beat him twice in 7 days last year. I'd assume you don't want another Cincinnati coach.
I agree the next Saban won't be a household name. I predict he won't be coaching the vols either.
