Gotta be better than DeBord. I have been arguing on here that we need to look for an OC from Big 12 or perhaps Tulsa or WKU.
Question is, would he be better as Butch's OC....running BUTCH's OFFENSE, cause that's what any OC under Butch would be doing.
Debord has been good at times, bad at times, great at times, awful at times. And considering how the most kneejerk, lowest common denominator fan response in organized sport is to complain about playcalling/the Offensive Coordinator at the time, I'm fairly certain that all those wanting Debord fired right now are gonna hate the next guy running the same offensive system/Butch's system as well.
Would love to see an air raid mixed in with a little read option with Jarrett Guarantano at the wheel.
I am very sure UT will put up much more passing yards whether it S Jones, Q Dormady or, JG. All three have the arm to make all the throws. And, i'm pretty sure that, they've all been clocked under 4.5 in the 40. Much better days ahead for the VOL offence .

Dormady is a high 4.6 guy. Still plenty fast to be effective in this role. JG is the fastest of the three as I understand it, with the strongest arm. I've heard there are some pretty consistent accuracy issues though....probably just some mechanics issues that a real QB coach could clean up pretty easily.
I agree....I believe the offense may improve with a new QB. I see the ability to pre-snap read and progress as the biggest things holding us back now. We'll likely miss Dobbs grit, and leadership though.

With Dormady's perceived advantage in the passing department over Dobbs the running lanes should open up more due to defenses having to respect the "throw game." Dormady's 4.6 should be sufficient enough.
Throw the bank at Kingsburry or Helfrich who are likely on their way out as HC at their respective schools.
