Hendon Hooker to the Titans?

The Titans somehow moving the #1 pick while landing Hooker as QB and thinking they have improved the QB room is so Titans brand it hurts.....
Read the article. Not what it said or what I implied.

I wouldn't mind us trading a 5th round or exchanging 4th for him. I just want Levis gone. I hated the pick. How anyone watched him at CanTurkey and thought he could be an NFL franchise QB is beyond me. Levis can get the hell on out of Nashville and take a jar of mayo with him.

Deebo going into age 30 season with a fairly rough contract....

Hooker has 2 years of super cheap control.

And the Lions think so much of Hooker as a back up QB that they brought in Teddy Bridgewater off the street to back up Jared Goff....

If any team is giving up more than a 6th round pick for Hooker, they are not very smart. And that is not me saying I don't think Hooker can be good. We're talking strictly about his trade value as a guy that has been QB3 for most of his NFL career.

The new GM is smarter than that

You have to ask, Why has he not already been released? I have never seen a NFL QB play as bad as he did last season. That game where he threw back to back to back picks, I thought he as on the verge of crying. Is Levis the owner's boy toy? A himbo?

Can't imagine a 2nd year coach on a very hot seat wanting to still keep him.

Levis was bad but there have been much worse NFL QBs than him. The Giants still have Tommy DeVito on their roster

A win/win for both sides if Hooker ends up elsewhere. Titans have shown zero interest in currying favor with VOLS, so I would hate to see HH take a step back and end up there. Getting on the field earlier is not always a good thing for your health or career.
He is 27 so he needs to get on the field. He is in his physical prime and waiting any longer is wasting prime years

I feel you. He the worst QB I've ever seen in pressure situations. What amazes me is there's still some fans that want to give him another year. If he's our starter again next season we will be picking first once again next draft.

Did you also zone out on the Vols when we had JG?

Curious
No. Never happening.
I was frustrated during the JG seasons. When he was a Fr and So, I thought he was going to be the player the Recruiting Services rated so high. I thought he put it together during the 2018 AUB game, then I saw he was at his ceiling.
The closest I ever came was I stopped watching games in both Dooley's and Butch's last seasons. I could love it without watching the chit shows.
I bleed Big Orange.
My great-great uncle was John Barnhill.

I could live with UT football being the only sport I watch.
I am not a hard core a fan of the Titans, which means I have cared little since Derrick Henry left. Then getting rid of Vrabel didn't impress me either. I have taken my son to several Titans games. The tix are cheap and easy to get.
I wish I could afford to take him to a game in Knoxville, but the price is too high for a hotel and tickets.
We did go to the Music City Bowl. That was a bargain.

The Titans do not value Vols alums at all. That's one reason why I find them unwatchable. They have no connection to Tennessee or it's people whatsoever. They're not good and there's almost no one I care about on the team. If you're going to lecture about how picking "locals" is dumb then you better produce success with the alternative plan. I fully expect yet another head scratching draft despite assurances by the NFL superfan geniuses of how smart it was somehow.

This is not true. The Titans don't need to be 14-3 for me to say that drafting only players whose last name starts with T would be dumb. Same goes for prioritizing specific schools for no real reason

Listen, I understand all of that, but it is ours now so I would like for it to represent us better.
You probably wouldn’t if you had heard the all the blustering in Nashville about how the Titans were gonna own the state by carving off TN Vol fans. They chose the name Tn instead of Nashville for just that reason. Counted on Vol fans to follow Tn name because they were used to following the TN name. Yet, when the Vols spent nearly 2 decades as a dumpster fire the titans made no gains in usurping the fanbase. Vols still and always will be number 1. I never have liked them respected or feared the titans and my best Sundays are when my Colts win and titans lose. Second best Sunday is when titans still lose.

When they drafted Levis I pretty much just zoned out on the Titans.
Just a terrible pick that most fans knew would fail. Levis didn’t really play well his senior year at Kentucky. I always thought he was overrated in college to tell you the truth. Not that he wasn’t a pretty good quarterback but not the star folks tried to make him out to be. Even taking into account that some say he didn’t have a good O line his senior year, even taking that into account Hooker out played and out performed Levis all day long. But the Titans were just determined to go with Levis despite what had played out on the field in college for all too see. GBO

I hope Titans sign Levis to huge long term deal that destroys their salary cap, for years.
Looks like they may be going after Ward.
I didn't really mind them not drafting Hooker but the Levis pick in the 2nd and trading up to get him was a head scratcher, if they took him in the later round as long shot, then ok. I think after Houston blew up their plans and took Stroud they had no back up plan and went on tilt and grabbed Levis,.

When Trey was there late and they didn't grab him I was like you guys are stupid, grabbing him late even with the blood clot risk wouldn't have sat you back. Now look at him

No one said that. There's a difference between ONLY drafting Tennessee players and AVOIDING Tennessee players. And there IS a reason to prioritize a specific school. The reason is because IT"S IN TENNESSEE which is where the people who's money they want live. It might behoove them to take advantage of that now and then.
