Sparty needs help. Just took my '06 Pathfinder in and they said I should just ditch her. I'm pretty tough on cars/trucks, and don't need anything fancy. I just can't be rolling down low in a bucket seat. I need leather and decent comfort. Wife's minivan driver seat is as comfortable as a den recliner. I need to be able to seat 5, and I need room for my sticks. Sparty does need to look a little smooth though. I know zero about cars. I don't read about them. I don't want to go car shopping. I don't want new.

I never ask the zone for anything. Thought about a prayer request thread in the ff, but figured 90% of those fools would think I was serious.

Help if you can. This is not a good start to the day.

We did this for SDV who went with a sequoia I believe. That was large SUV. If you want smaller options open up. My advice is simple.

1. Start with carmax, select vehicle type
2. Find 3 comparable vehicles you could live with in your budget: year models make
3. Go to autotrader and search for said cars
4. Make offers 1k-5k below carmax quotes depending on price range. Approx 1k per 10k spent.

You need to decide or advise:

Location/market/city: ie how far to buy
Medium or large SUV
Total price: (IMO 15-20k min)
Mileage requirement (IMO<60k)
Total amenities (must have leather?)

Oh dealer or bank finance

Bank finance or personal is easier for private party.
Dealer is for the birds

The more comparable vehicles you can find and get info on, the better. I would personally go with a Tacoma with the deluxe cab. Plenty of room for 5 and I always just put my clubs in the bed. Very good truck. I paid under 28K for mine new, the only problem is that the Tacoma tend to keep its value longer so you might be able to find a '10-'11 model under 17K.

I love my quad cab truck, Ram 1500, and I have 2 kids. However a truck, especially without a covered bed is not for everyone.

Fill out the specs and we'll point you towards some. Call your bank or open up the money market and let's do this.

It also helps your buying power if you either have the cash without financing, or go through your bank before hand. Ive been able to buy cars about 5-6k less that sticker due to a cash offer instead of using their financing.
