His first Int. we will be calling for QD.

JG actually, QD just wont be able to look that good in this offense. Kid will tear it up in a pro style offense and I hope if he decides to transfer after the season that Butch doesn't let him transfer to an SEC team.

I have yet to develop faith in Malone. He is going to have to earn it. But I do think that Smith and Jennings will have a breakout year. Smith because of his past consistency and Jennings because he is big and plays with a nasty attitude. For some reason he reminds me of another 15 named Carl Pickens.

This! His feet and body movement are very similar when I watch him. Sharp cuts and kinda slides his feet instead of high stepping. Both have viscous competitive attitudes as well.

Now, if Juan can just fall in line with that same production. Woo. I'm expecting a big year for him, PW, and Malone. Plus Josh Smith is consistent like clockwork. Very nice receiver core.

Watson ain't no where near the runner that Dobbs is.

Really?......

2015-

Dobbs 146 carries, 671 yards, 4.6 ypc, 11 tds

Watson 207 carries, 1105 yards, 5.3 ypc, 12 tds

Dobbs is an outstanding runner, but so is Watson.

Yes he does Butchy ol' boy....and then he pushes hard to be the starter in 2017 which is a great thing for team 121.....if he wins the job, we're in great shape and if QD is good enough to hold him off we're in great shape IMO. Win-win.

Dobbs runs against better and faster defenses in the SEC. Dobbs would have similar rushing stats against ACC competition every week.

Way to go Freak. You upset the man, the myth, the legend. A whole positive Dobbs thread and D4H moped off to the sidelines because he didn't start it.

Figured, no, actually KNEW you'd say that.

Dobbs and Watson played 3 like opponents last year, two from the SEC (SCar and Bama) and one from the Big 12 (Oklahoma). Here are their respective rushing results vs those three teams.......

Dobbs- 43 carries, 66 yds, 1.53 ypc, 1 TD

Watson- 65 carries, 332 yds, 5.10 ypc, 4 tds

Absolutely. But I'm not sure Dobbs can help with that. 😁

I'm putting that task in the seemingly very capable hands of Bob Shoop. Plus, we also have some good experienced leaders on that defense this year.

I think this defense in Neyland is going to put a lid on Florida's offense in a big way. LDR has never played in such a hostile environment against such a motivated defense. I can't wait to watch it!

Man, you set him up well! That was a thing of beauty.

If Dobbs becomes an above average passer, we can be so so special. We have so many weapons on offense that if the opponents defense has to worry about us throwing it down the field then we will absolutely man handle them.

Heath is one of my all time favorite Vols. I've often wondered why he's a democrat, however.

He probably wonders why you're not a democrat. Differences are a part of life and if you learn how to use your differences with others you can do productive things whether it's in politics, business, or any other sector and/or area of life.

They are both talented runners. The diff in the stats IMO is Watson being so much better of a passer vs Dobbs. Watson is such a great passer that teams had to back off and account for it which opened up him being able to run.

Dobbs didn't have hardly any downfield threat. Idk who has the best wheels between the two, maybe Dobbs by a little but Watson was so much better of a passer that his stats on the ground looked made him look better.

Prob speaks more to his passing than anything but it's just my opinion and Watson truly is elite in both the air and on the ground. Helluva QB!

Probably. I just haven't personally seen it much. Most discussion I come across tend to focus on his accuracy, his legs, or his giant brain. 😁

Championship teams need championship caliber leaders. I think Dobbs can fill that role this season.

I heard somewhere he was an Engineering Major...did anyone else ever catch that bit of trivia during a game broadcast?
