Have some pride! Who cares if a bunch of assholes hassel you? It's worth it after you win!
You sir are wrong, pride has nothing to do with manning up and going to the Shi*7 stain that is Gainesville. I've been there twice (both losing efforts) and if it weren't for my Gator friends I'd have ended up in jail or worse, the fans there are far more obnoxious than any other on the planet given there success.
Gainesville is much worse than the ghetto that is Tuscaloosa. MUCH worse. I'll never go back to that town again, unless I'm driving up 75 and need to take a dump.
I never post here but felt the need to reply today. They are by far the worst fan base in college football. Their lack of class and decency shows up to its fullest on game day. Not sure if it's because most are probably not originally from the south or what? It's like you aren't in the south anymore when you are there.
I've been to every SEC football venue multiple times and many other away games over the years and nothing compares.
Meyer's first year was the worst although the 90s were bad too. I've witnessed groups of UF students trying to pick fights with any UT fan that walked by and chanting in unison the most classless and vulgar phrases you can imagine. This right in front of children(Vol and Gator kids). I actually saw a Gator mom go up to a group of students who were yelling disgusting phrases at some UT fans. She had her young kids with her and she began to yell at them to stop. They started chanting "F U Wh@&%" back at her.
Before anyone says this happens at every school, they are wrong. A little ribbing is fine and expected, but they are the only place I've been where the fans are completely out of bounds and confrontational.
That being said, once inside, the actual game setting is outstanding. Top 5 in the country for sure. And one of the loudest stadiums around.
I don't know why any Vol fan would want to go there this year. As loaded as the Gators are, it is going to be ugly. I am a major Vol fan and have been my whole life but I would never go to that stadium unless we had a good chance to win.
Me and one of my friends, on our way to Tampa, drove by BHG stadium on the eve of the game (I think it was in 99 or 2000). I'm a Vols fan, he's a HUGE Seminoles fan.....he even had his car painted burgundy and gold. I had Rocky Top on a CD, and we drove laps around the stadium with me leaning out the car window singing at the top of my lungs. Other than a LOT of dirty looks and middle fingers, only one person actually yelled anything back.
However, my best friend Drew is a Gator fan. I look anxiously forward to the day we win. Our bet every year is that if UT wins, he buys the beer for the next game, and has to sing Rocky Top in front of his unit's formation while wearing a UT ballcap, with video evidence since I'm not there anymore.
If UF wins, I have to buy the beer, and do the Gator chomp in front of my formation, while wearing a Gators ballcap.....with video evidence.
I'm so tired of having to wear that ugly blue and orange hat.....

Bama and LSU fans are really the worst....I don't travel to the road games becaue I would rather watch those at the house if I could in the comfort of my own living room but I'm sure its everywhereI can tolerate the UF fans---most are OK. But bama and uga fans really get me going--more obnoxious than any fans in the SEC, especially when drunk and crazy, as they usually are.
My buddy (who is a huge Gator fan) and I are planning on heading down to the Swamp this year for the big game. Besides an over priced scalped ticket, what else should I expect? I was talking to another UT fan last night and he brought up thrown beer bottles and an on foot police chase.
