The only thing I'll say about officiating is that I find it suspicious that Alabama only seems to start being nailed by penalties when they have a game in hand.Seems to happen often for them,especially when they play the Vols.

They ought to do a better job of making sure there is not a hint of impropriety of any ref. Bama resident being head ref of a Bama game? Bama grad a ref of their game. Etc.

They’re not even trying to hide it anymore. Makes no sense that they would have a graduate of a particular school officiating a game for that school’s team if there are other options.

Totally irrelevant. That was completely unprofessional and should be grounds for a severe public reprimand and a suspension. It is a violation of The Commissioner's Regulations stated on page ten; COMMUNICATION WITH OFFICIALS ON A GAME DAY. Even a referee for youth soccer matches or football is not to engage one team or the opponent before and after a game so as to not betray bias, one way or another. And we could get into real hot water with the game assignors for that stuff.
