HBO's "Game of Thrones"

If this happens, it would be the most epic fail ending of any show ever. I would feel cheated of a legitimate ending.

I would too, but if you consider how things are pointing, that would be bittersweet, Jon and Dany save the world, but not for themselves, the aristocracy is destroyed, and magic dies with the dragons and White walkers...well that's mostly just bitter I guess, but humanity survives, so that's a good thing.

Seriously, who wins the throne isn't as important to me as someone simply winning. Jon, Dany, Tyrion, or hell, Lady Mormont, I just want someone to end up winning, and the idea of killing off magic is just stupid to me. If I want reality, I'll go outside. I like fantasy and magic in stories. Why ruin it to be "more realistic"? It's not real! That's the point! It's a fantastical story and I prefer it stay that way.

I agree, but I think Martin screws us over at the end. It is just his thing.

Does anyone else miss the old Tyrion. He's become so much more serious since killing Tywin. I want the old hard-drinking, whoring around Tyrion back.

He's been through a lot since then...

"How do you want to die, half man?"

"At 80 with a belly full of wine and a mouth on my c**k."

I want a love triangle between Tyrion - Missandei - GW.

That would make his story much more interesting again.

:)

He's just the kind of guy you'd like to hang out with. Him and Robert Baratheon would make great drinking buddies (until they wanted to kill something).

Yes, I agree. My favorite line maybe ever, "Yeah, I know u aren't a god, a god wouldn't have a c@ck that small" or something like that. Only the 2nd time in my life I almost fell in the floor laughing. The other time, when Jason Biggs was effing the pie in "American Pie". I really want to see Tormund and Brienne hook up. I heard a lot of the looks Tormund gives Brienne was improvised by the actor playing Tormund, which makes it even funnier to me.

I've kinda been frustrated at how quickly this season is trying to wrap up story lines. It took forever to get here and I just feel like it's rushed now in some ways.

Hbo being Hbo... they did the same crap with boardwalk empire

You could add Bronn to that list as well, lol.

I think Jaime and Bronn's discussion about the responsibility that comes with having a castle was foreshadowing how this will all end. Bronn on the iron throne, everyone important dead and a bunch of hungry citizens looking for him to take care of him. Last line will be something like "Well sh@t"

That's my favorite phrase to use!

He could learn a lot from Lady O's advice to Dany, lol. Tyrion is not a sheep to blindly follow Dany. He's a mischievous imp that loves his wine and women. :p

I'm thinking that Tyrion will let Jaime and Bronn go. He owes both of them his life. Dany's going to be pissed, and Jorah will arrive in time to gloat as Tyrion is leaving for exile.

I'm not sure there is a "good" ending to any show or story of this magnitude, or at least an ending that will appease the majority. People tend to get very divided over endings.

I loved Boardwalk Empire, hated the ending. Same with Sopranos. The HBO mini-series The Night Of was terrific, but several people I talked to hated the way it ended.

I'm curious to know what you all think would categorize a "good" ending? Does everyone need to die? Need to live? Do we need a happy ending where everyone lives in Westeros and the country is completely united, or does Westeros need to be completely wiped out? Would a good ending mean one that is open to interpretation or perhaps one that leads into a new story that we will never be told?

I definitely have my theories on how it will end, but that doesn't necessarily mean that's how it should end.

I think the ending should be somewhere between the finales of Breaking Bad and The Wire.

Breaking Bad: Story completely resolved, lose ends tied up (except for Huell), and for the most part, the characters get the endings the audience feels they deserve.

The Wire: Story ongoing. Baltimore is still Baltimore, and the show makes it clear that things are cyclical. As some people get out of the game, new people will take their place. Some characters get endings that make the audience happy, some characters escape the justice they deserve.

Game of Thrones should be in the middle. The White Walker plot should be definitively resolved, and we should have a clear answer for who sits on the Iron Throne, if it still exists. The Seven Kingdoms, united or not, should be rebuilding and trying to move on. It would be silly for them to make a dramatic leap forward in terms of political or social progress, so I hope they keep it grounded.

As far as individual characters, I expect we'll lose at least a few more that we like along the way. Those that do survive should get some sort of 'happy' ending (although how happy can it really be after all everyone has been through). The most evil characters will die, but it would be realistic to have some of the 'bad guys' escape justice (or at least death) as well.

Most likely GoT ending: Everyone dies except Hot Pie. The End.

I'd like to think everyone dies except Hot Pie and Beric. Beric is the only remaining member who knows the fate of the Starks, Lannisters, Targaryens, Reeds, Greyjoys, the White Walkers, the Unsullied, the Dragons, etc. Hot Pie services Beric a meat pie as he begins regaling the events. Just as he gets to the important part, Beric chokes on a bone in the meat pie and finally dies. Now no one knows what happened, the final battle becomes nothing more than legend and man goes on living in ignorance - awaiting a new Game of Thrones to play. The end.

(Then out of nowhere, the 3ER/Bran wargs into Hot Pie and they go on repeating the same series of events ad infinitum)

That would suck.

They could just Deadwood it and leave it hanging with no closure.

Is it me, or do the Wildlings get the crap end of the stick? They fight for Snow to recapture Winterfell under the assumption that they'll get lands south of the wall, only to be sent to the wall as cannon fodder.
