HBO's "Game of Thrones"

So how the hell are the White Walkers supposed to be a threat now that Jon and Dany seem to have a pretty strong alliance and she has three fire-breathing dragons?

Dany could just fly around in circles for a couple of hours and reduce every wight to ash, and then they could send in 1,000 dudes with dragonglass/Valryian Steel weapons to cut down the White Walkers.

I know that we have to get to that point in the plot, but if it happened right now, the WWs wouldn't stand a chance. It's not like they have archers or anything that can even hurt giant flying dragons.

Who knows? Maybe they have an Ice Dragon to even out the playing field?

To the writers: how the heck you gonna have the Hound, Beric, Thoros, and the rest of the brotherhood captured by northmen redshirts and not show it until Jon finds them in the dungeons of Winterfell?!

Eastwatch, but yeah, it's a valid point.

I just don't get why they felt the need to hurry up this show. I guess production costs are too much? Oh well, I'm enjoying the ride but would have liked a full season even more.

Totally agree. The entire season has felt rush in comparison. Not enough time spent on the the things that made the show really great, like the dialogue between Tyrion and Jamie.

I don't think everyone is going to die. I think the Hound will live so that he can kill the mountain at some point. I think Jorah will live because what would be the point of him getting cured just to die? Gendry just now came back after like 5 seasons and I think he will be big in making the dragon glass weapons. I wouldn't be surprised if Thoros and Beric both died and maybe Tormund, but I really hope Tormund doesn't die.

I forgot about Jorah. Yea, I could see him making it as well. Unfortunately, I don't think Tormund does, but I hope I'm wrong.

While I don't disagree, that scene was the only time all season where the quicker pace has bothered me. I've been waiting forever to see those two meet again.

The rest of the pace hasn't bothered me. In previous seasons I've gotten a "filler material" sense in a lot of episodes. I don't need a 10-minute scene of Jon sailing on the ship to meet Dany. I don't need a 15-minute scene of Bronn and Jaime slowly riding on horseback chatting as their armies march toward Kings Landing.

Everything is coming to a head now. I agree with the "get to the point" mentality.

I've always loved the scenes like that though. It is not really "filler" imo, that only happens when writers run out of valid material, I feel it is story exposition and character development

I think they are just maximizing profits at this point. The less they film, the more they make on a story coming to it's natural end.

Kind of short sighted in my opinion (as accountants usually are). They could have spread it out, made another season (meaning another year for all of the people who subscribe to HBO for this show only, and another season of Blu-ray/dvd sales etc.).

I enjoy the character development. It's what makes you care out the characters. It's what shows the characters' motivations, weaknesses, strengths, etc. It gives depth.

I 100% agree.

Uuuuugggghhh!!! I couldn't help myself. I read season spoilers last night. :cray:

But things are about to get even better. Can't wait to actually see it.

I was weak....

Spoiler for episode 6...do not read if you don't want part of the episode to be spoiled.

The guys that decided to march beyond the wall get themselves into some **** and Dany rides in to save the day. This part idk if it's a 100% sure or not but I believe it is...somehow one of her dragons dies (Viserion) during this and becomes an Ice Dragon and that's how the Knight King tears down part of the wall in episode 7.

A podcast I listen to was just talking about if what you posted was possible.

Can anyone tell me if the "magnificent 7" and the entire plot of capturing a wight is in the books?

Felt like "a hairbrained scheme that just might work" - very Hollywood.

We can all agree now that Dany is well on her way to being a tyrannical dictator right? And if we can smuggle a boat up and sneak into the red keep in broad daylight, couldn't we sneak say 50 guys in at night and suppress the castle. Kill Cersei and Jaime and end the war just that quickly. Instead of sending some of our best fighters on a suicide mission that could take months and isn't likely to work since we all agree Cersei is nucking futs. No. Ok
