I can't wait for this season to start. It's gonna strange for me not binge watching it. I believe in the end John Snow and Daenerys will rule together
I don't...I think they both die. I believe in the end, that magic and the old world monarchies and ruling nobility are pretty much destroyed, paving the way for the wildling ideas to become the new way of life. I have not heard anybody else postulate this theory. It is just mine.
This is a real possibility. Then again I could see him throwing another curve ball. Jon and Danyeris fall during the climatic battle, leaving only Tyerion the only surviving dragon rider. Meanwhile Sansa kills little finger for either cowardice or undermining them during the battle. Ends with Tyrion and Sansa being forced back together to rebuild the relm.I don't...I think they both die. Whatever the ending of the show, I would expect GRRM to intentionally go in different directions to end the books out of mild spite for the show. Sure it's given him worldwide acclaim, but how would you feel if someone else got to finish your life's work before you could fully realize it?
In the Ice and Fire series - these are the US first edition publishing dates:
1) A Game of Thrones - August 1996
2) A Clash of Kings - February 1999
3) A Storm of Swords - November 2000
4) A Feast for Crows - November 2005
5) A Dance with Dragons - July 2011
The first season of GoT was in 2011... There is no way their producers/writers could have anticipated that Martin wouldn't have The Winds of Winter completed when filming began in 2016. What are they supposed to do? Go over 2 or 3 years in between new episodes? I bet Martin understands they had to move on and hopefully he has shared his vision with them.
