HBO's "Game of Thrones"

Some people forget this is fantasy. If someone wants to cheer on Cersei. what's the problem? It's not like she actually exists and is doing these horrible things. And as far as villains go, she just showed herself to be badass. She's a great villain. Great villains enhance the story. But that's all it is, a story. So try not to get offended if someone roots for the bad guy(or gal in this case) over the heroes. It's really not that big a deal.

I'm really not. Just trying to give my perspective of why she's the best GOT universe. Just shows how good of a show that it is when there are so many differing opinions. Kinda what separates it from the pretenders like TWD, imo.

And to your point about Cersei playing the game stupidly, that may be the case in some cases, but I would also argue that the deck has been stacked against her as well simply because she is a woman of power in Westeros. I respect her for going after she wants, all else be damned. You don't. It's cool. Think about it though. 10 episodes ago Cersei was paraded through the streets completely naked and was the laughing stock of KL. Now she rules that ***** because she refused to be the victim and took her destiny in her own hands. I like that kind of self-determination.

Also, no Walter White's last season, especially the last two episodes, do not redeem him for me in any way. If you are gonna go the criminal route, go out guns a blazin Tony Montana style. I hated the self-reflection apology BS that accompanied White in those episodes. Perhaps that's what draws me to Cersei especially after the last episode: **** the world, I'm gonna get mine. I can respect that a lot more than some characters that exist with one foot in virtue and the other in selfishness.

Also, and I know someone will call me out for being an ******* for this but still. I enjoy posting here, specifically in this thread because I like reading everyone's OPINIONS about what is going to happen on GOT> But when people bring facts from the books into the thread and interweave those with their opinions it becomes problematic. I really wish I had not read the post above---I would have rather not known that information. Please use the spoiler tags.

So let me get this straight..trying to do some good, when you've done nothing but bad...is bad. Dude you are a messed up individual. You praise a character for being pure evil. For valuing no life but her own. Dont give me any bullcrap about her family either. She hated her father, she hates her little brother, she doesn't love and only uses the one person on the earth that loves her. She didn't give a crap when Tommen died, or care that she is the direct cause of killing her LAST child. I think she loved her children only as possessions. She is a sociopath pure and simple. You have to be messed up to praise that. Is this the kind of people you admire in real life? Better question..do you plan on ordering your life that way since you gush in your admiration for her actions? Is she a great villain..oh yeah...maybe one of the best ever, but nobody that has a shred of real decency would admire anything about her...PS Others have talked about the horn before, it is no secret to anybody that knows much of anything about ASoIaF. And it is really only wild speculation on my part. Nothing at all has even been mentioned about it on the show. Nobody knows what is going to happen now but the creators. Quit being a Nancy..be more like your hero.

You're right.if I could I would delete that post, but I can't edit on this phone so..oh well. I am genuinely curious to know if this guy really admires this kind of evil behavior in real life persons. If so he may be on serial killer watch.

No I don't take a show that seriously. I'm more wondering if he really admires this behavior in real life. I hope he is just talking about about as a fictional character. Surely he abhors people like Stalin and Hitler, just like any sane person does.

I admire good characters. I admire them for the really good things that they do. I admire evil characters. I admire them for their ability to commit to do evil. Cersei is my favorite character on the show for her ability to go 100% and not give f***. I watch TV and movies to break from reality that is the mundane. Therefore, when I watch, I want to watch characters and writing that doesn't feed me "the good guys" story arcs one right after the other.

And I don't care if it is wild speculation on your part. People, on this board and on several other boards across the internet, have the decency to somewhat hide another "wild speculation" for some time: R+L=J. It's not too much to ask.

The horn hasn't even been established in the show. Seems very deus ex machina at this point to me. Especially in the hands of a character who has been in the show for a grand total of about 10 minutes.

I don't see why Dany sailing on King's Landing and pillaging the place is boring. The show has literally been setting up that point for 6 seasons. Obviously she will meet resistance from Euron at some point, but is he really going to be a compelling villain? I think people are ready to see her in Westeros. A pitstop in Dorne and a drawn out conflict with Euron will be agonizing in S7. Who cares about him? He has half an army. It will also feel lame to see him suddenly control the dragons. Then Dany will have to regain control of them AGAIN, or kill them...and in that case--what was the point of that entire storyline?

Dany just made Yara promise to stop pillaging, so don't see her pillaging. The whole south of Westeros besides the Stormlands(and their ruling house is obliterated) is allied to Dany now. Where is the conflict going to come from? The point would be to create a real roadblock to Dany the steamroller. There is no military power that can hope to present more than a bump in the road. Like I said though this is just a theory...it is probably wrong. I have no idea what is going to happen. Just fun guessing.

My prediction for next season...Baelish is going to cause havoc between Sansa and Jon. It's going to be the worst thing GoT has done...turning Stark against Stark. Which is stupid because Jon at this point has no other ambition other than to stop the WW from destroying everybody. Everybody has forgotten about Euron and his Dragon horn. I think he is going to cause a major disruption in Dany's plans. If he really can control dragons with that thing, that would be very interesting to see what happens...Who knows what the Mad Queen is going to do now? I have no idea other than I think in the end Jaime kills her.

The problem with the dragon horn is, only a targarian can use the horn. He might use it but he'll only use it once.

Well that makes me feel better about you...a little :) But heck in that vein why not just pull for the Knight King to destroy all life on earth? That should sate your desire to see good obliterated...heck maybe Certs can become the next Nights Queen and rule over the hordes of rotting undead wights forever. :)

I guess I got a different impression from Sansa's eye contact with Littlefinger than what everyone else seems to have gotten. I thought she was relieved that Jon took the helm, and her look to LF was kind of a "F you, looks like you miscalculated this one" look. I didn't watch the after show, did they say anything about this? I just can't see Sansa being pissed and choosing LF over Jon.

I agree, I think she was relieved. Since she isn't the queen in the north. He'll have to wait to sit on the iron throne. That's what he truly wants. Without the north, He doesn't have an army. I believe when he backed Sansa, he thought he would have the north going with him to take the throne.

Also I can't do spoiler tags from this phone..and also in my defense the Dragon horn has been discussed in this thread already. If I had watched a leaked episode and posted details untagged. Then I would understand your griping, but I am merely bring up something whose existence has not been established on the show and in all probability will not be. Aesius has a good point about that.(as much as it pains me to admit it) It would be too god from the machine at this point. It is speculation that is all.

All I'm going to say is I don't think Cersei exhausted her supply of wildfire. I think the entire underbelly of King's Landing is lined with barrels of that stuff or soon will be! Cersei has said over and over that she'd burn King's Landing to the ground before the throne is occupied by anyone but a Lanister.

You guys do know about cersi and Jamies true names.

Knowing who she truly is, what she did doesn't surprise me one bit. And, they have been making wildfire since the fight with stannis Baratheon. So, how many secret passage ways are full of wildfire?

i'm 100% positive nobody has forgotten this is fantasy :eek:lol: and it doesn't really matter either way.

and it's not necessarily the fact that somebody is cheering on Cersei, it's more that they seem to be defending her. You said it yourself, she's a great villain. but to say she isn't is kind of mind-boggling to me and pretty annoying, so i say something, they say something back, and it goes on so forth. that's what happens on forums bud.

alright, cool. this is great. I agree with roughly 90% of it. in regards to our conversation, it's not really relevant (though I'm guessing it's more directed at ulysees anyway). As long as you understand that Cersei is more on the line of an evil character. She's a perfect villain, obviously considering how much I despise her. that's well done character building. you act like there's all this nonsense hate for her and that she isn't that bad, but you'd be wrong. she gets hated on cause she deserves it. there is extremely little redeemable about her. you could argue perspectives with the majority of the characters on this show, but after last night, it's extremely laughable to do so with Cersei. but if she's still your favorite character, cool. whatever floats your boat. just don't act surprised that the majority would disagree with you there.

I'd really recommend picking up the books, particularly Feast for Crows (as that's where her POV's begin), and see if you still feel the same way about her.

I think the capture of the throne will be relatively small compared to the white walkers. I feel like that is the end game so a villain as a road block to kings landing is kind of piling on.

I have a weird feeling that Euron somehow gets defeated by the white walkers first. Not sure how yet...

That would be wild.

Euron needs to find another targarian...???? Someone with his same mentality.....

I expect Euron and co. to be a minor speed bump the Targaryen Bus is going to roll over...
