Haynsworth calling out the staff

I'm not saying he's a horrible line coach but Albert is correct about where our lineman are lined up. How many times did Barnett get called for being in the neutral zone for lining up so close to the ball over his time here? I remember it happening a lot but it's worth the risk to try and gain an edge. It gives you more leverage against the man in front of you rather than giving them a 2 yard cushion and having them maul you over with a head full of steam. It really doesn't make any sense other than Shoop trying to throw Florida off their game and coming out with everyone lined up on the ball Saturday.

They will be.

I agree with some of the stuff he said. Strongly disagree with him saying it publicly.
Who was the former Vol, during the culture of rape thing, who kept going on the radio and talking about how business is handled in the locker room. Some of these guys, no matter their intentions, just don't get it.
So, based on that logic my statements are just as true as his.

So you're saying Butch made the Fulmer mistake of chasing star ratings vs. actually signing players who could make the team and contribute? Or was this just an attempt to deflect responsibility for the current roster from Butch? Just want to make sure I understand your point here. Go Vols!

I knew this was going blow some brain cells, but I did it anyways....my bad.

I wonder if AH is on the outside looking in and has had his VFL status revoked? And this is not part of the family?

While some of you want to put the VFLs the same category as you are in, unless you are a VLF you are not the same as them. You are merely a fan or former student. If a VFL has ready access to the program, the players and the coaching staff - then they are an extended part of the program - family if you will.

One doesn't blast their employer or members of their family in public if they are considered and want to remain a trust worthy member of the organization / family. That will lead to dismissal in the case of an employer and the family is going to read you the riot act in the case of the family.

That doesn't imply a VLF couldn't and shouldn't voice their opinions - just that the opinions should be voiced internally to those whom it is directed, not blasted out via social media for public consumption.

To me this isn't about whether his thoughts are right or wrong. It is about the approach he took - private verses public. The fact he took the public angle tells me clearly it is all about him.

(sorry I'm late to this party; you guys went wild while I slept, heh)

As for Albert's comments: I would not have made them publicly.

If you want to say something to Butch, say it to Butch. Call him. If you can't get him to take your call, send him an email. Write him a letter. Fax it to him. Text him. Go see him. Whatever, just have a conversation with the man.

What Albert said reflects the feelings of much of Volunteer Nation. But what he did was far too public to be sincere.

If I want you to do better at something, I don't publish my recommendations for the world to see. I send them to you personally, direct.

If I want to embarrass you, or shame you, or show that I'm smarter than you, I publish my recommendations for public consumption.

Bottom line is, Albert makes some good points in a bad way with poor judgment. Penny wise, pound foolish.

Disagree, I think most Vol FANS like CBJ and the progress of this program

Who revokes it?

Dooley?

Haynesworth may not be a model citizen, but he knows football... I'm glad he called out Shoop on that defensive strategy on 2nd & 1... I'm sure that raised some eyebrows over in Currie's office... also glad he called out Butch on time to win... he came from a winning era at UT, and I understand where he's coming from...

Albert did the program no favors with his public emotional rant. It won't help recruiting. He unlike most fans can get access to the coaching staff to share his views and may effect some change. After this outburst I doubt CBJ wants to talk with him.

Albert played on very talented deep teams that man on man could match up with any other team. Injuries were a nonissue as players waited for their opportunity. We are not that deep and can't afford to loose our best players in game 1 to a chop block. The bottom line on the Tech game was win with no injuries. We did that.

We have played two games aginst running teams. We have yet to see the Tenneeess D. Albert should go to practice and see what they are doing before spouting off. Shoop is an attacking coach and will attack FL.

Honestly maybe if our entire D had the meanstreak that Haynesworth had we might not be talking about "Life Champions". Let me guess most of you who are belittling him for his pro career maybe played 2nd string in peewee football? This guy is speaking the truth of what he sees as the issue for UT's D. Watching both games so far how can you disagree?

Folks upset about AH publicly stating his opinion and how it will negatively affect recruiting. You know what negatively affects recruiting not playing up to potential, and losing. If I remember correctly, when Jancek was here he simplified the defense and allowed our players to attack the ball and play fast. When he sat back and didn't pressure the QB we got beat. Shoop said he was bringing an aggressive defense to UT, and now it's time to see it. UT has the talent, let it loose! It's time to make a statement against the worst Gator team I've ever seen play! Go Vols!

The manner in which we play defense will have far more effect on recruiting than anything AH ever says.

Do you have any idea what the term journeyman actually means? Don't bother...It's a rhetorical question the obvious answer is no.

I do....and meant it the spirit of a journeyman QB in the NFL. By that I mean somebody qualified enough to get you through a period of need, but not your choice for a long term franchise QB.

I know that in the workplace a journeyman is a fully qualified tradesmen, that had completed his apprenticeship and is qualified. It's a phrase with different meanings dependent on where it's used.

You knew what I meant...or maybe not.
