Haynsworth calling out the staff

My bad. It sounded like you were implying that AH was 100% correct with everything he says and should never be questioned because he is a VFL and so I was adding to this supreme VFL ring of intellectual greatness with Peyton's thoughts on the coaching staff.
Oh...well, that's ok. I appreciate you explaining how you misunderstood. Don't sweat it...accidents happen friend.

Maybe they should.

Yeah, let's get several NFL players talking trash about their school's coach. Should work wonders for recruiting and cohesion.

Not sure if you're so blinded by hate that you don't see the issue with your idea or if you just have a really horrible ideas in general.

Aside from his ridiculous antics the man did know how to dominate his opponent. He knows a thing or two about playing on the defensive line and he probably knows what he's talking about.

I'll let you decide.

He knows plenty and I have no problem with him questioning Jones. But as a VFL, he shouldn't be doing this publicly. As I stated earlier, I'm sure there's several who have a problem with Jones but you don't see them running around doing interviews about the subject.

There's a reason for that.

If you have an issue with public statements, you should be talking to Butch about not openly lying in public about our defensive line setup. 4 years my a$$

Albert may be correct in his comments, but I don't have much respect for him as a person. He only seemed to play when it suited him. One of his NFL team mates said he was the worst team mate ever. Some of his VOL teammates have described him as crazy. He created the Dooley rope a dope . Like Dooley he collected the big pay check and then sat on his ass waiting to be fired.

I'm impressed with your randomness.
I believe it was proven he didn't say 4 years and that someone brought previous pictures of us lining up a yard off anyway. Something tells me you have absolutely zero interest in facts though.

Haynesworth reminds me of the town drunk, who got a come to Jesus experience on Saturday night. And now wants to take the mic and preach to everyone on Sunday morning.

Albert did make a valid point on 104.3 today. He said Butch has had 2 recruiting classes in top 5 and two classes in top 15 during the past four recruiting classes yet his team this year is ranked only 23, implying that he is not coaching to the level of talent that he has brought in. I agree.

Preseason polling. Seriously, that really is a stupid point. If at 23 or worse at the end of the season then talk to us about that point.

Didn't see him calling out any players. He bragged on Tuttle & McKenzie....lamenting the fact that the coaches don't know what to do with them.

Really only saw criticism of coaches, which is warranted and completely in-bounds.

He should not have called them out. By doing so he is indirectly saying they have not played well.

You serious? Did you not hear Butch say this week and I quote "Our DL is always a yard off the line of scrimmage, or almost a yard. People are just looking for that for some reason now."

And he got called out by it and has continued to get called out for it. No one is making up anything. Once again, Butch's words has gotten him in PR trouble.

Totally agree. Laziest player to ever put on pads
There are some pretty hardcore articles on him from his NFL days about how he quit and tried to get released.

Haynesworth makes some fair points. Clearly Shoop has to get better or heads are going to roll.

I'm in the camp that it's probably not something that helps the program, though, doing it publicly. If he has the best interest in the program, it's probably not something you make into a headline during Florida week. JMO.

Wasn't aware this discussion had devolved into a competition.

I'm not trying to change anyone's opinion, just express mine. You should try it.

I think the point was, just because he played at Tennessee doesn't mean he's more of an expert than the other thousands of VFLs, some of which actually support the staff. They're all certainly entitled to do what they see fit, though.

Exactly. I don't know how Haynesworth's poor character negates his knowledge of defensive line play. It's quite likely Ted Bundy, Adolf Hitler, and Ivan the Terrible all thought one plus one equaled two. Just because they were of poor character doesn't mean one plus one equals three.

The same guy who tore off a guys helmet and raked his cleats across the guys face? Yeah he had some of the worst penalties in football history. Great player for UT but he is not a mastermind.

Did you actually read the article? He has some very good points. And he doesn't come off half as bloodthirsty as the Fire Butch crowd on VN. Just seems talent going to waste in the DL.

And coincidentally, when he stomped that guys dome it was in retaliation for a cut block so I'd say he has some credibility in speaking to playing against that dirtyness GT runs. Even if you don't agree with his methods.

Of course you have to completely ignore the fact but there was an entire thread filled with people saying negative things about him, before he ever said anything about Jones.

But pretending they just feel this way all of a sudden, fits your agenda so much better doesn't it?

I'm not a big fan of him for different reasons, that also does make him wrong because of that either. At least not to me.
He has some valid points, and there will be some that disregard them because they don't like him, and others just because it's Jones.

Just because you played it doesn't mean you can coach it. Brady Hoke has become a horrible line coach just because big Al states it. Yea right.

Both. He has horrible ideas totally thinks he's the smartest tool in the shed. It's the worst combo really.

No...you probably should actually READ the article. He attributed it to how they are coached and instructed to line up. He was very complimentary of both D-tackles. He thinks they should be performing like he and Henderson did, but scheme is keeping them from it.

I understand what you're doing, but you're making a point where there isn't one.

>500 yards rushing is not playing well. That is a school record in failure to stop the run.
I think these kids are much better than this scheme allowed them to be.
