Haynesworth calling for boycott...

I always liked Albert at UT but SMH at this statement. We all love Tee but White had tunnel vision as who he wanted. JH will either make him or break him.Nothing away from Tee, color has nothing to do with his interviewing for the job, just don't see Tee as a head coach. JMHO!

Hopefully this isn’t a serious question. There are 0 black head coaches at UT. All sports. 0 diversity. There has only been 3 in the history of the school.

There has never been a black chancellor. I can go on but you can just open your eyes to the obvious.
So people should be hired simply because they are black? Who gives a ratsrectum about qualifications? Right? Nobody owes anyone squat. Its been 150+ years....time to move on.

And it's certainly their prerogative to say no. However it doesn't exactly help the narrative of "there aren't enough black head coaches in college football due to systemic racism" when those opportunities are rejected when they DO come. If the issue is as serious as some claim, you'd think these coaches wouldn't be so picky.
Say what? They should just settle because it was offered?

Haynesworth calling for boycott due to "systemic racism" because Tee Martin wasn't interviewed and hired.

Albert Haynesworth calls for boycott of Tennessee Vols football for 'systematic racism'
How is that racist? He can’t even get an FCS job , but we should hire him ? I get tired of everyone telling us who we should hire or what’s a good hire OSU had a chance to hire Schiano after they criticized us for not , but they didn’t . Why? Herbie and those guys said it would have been such a great hire for us .

So you respond with a privileged opinion with absolutely no substance. The irony.
Your argument is nothing more than privileged this and that. You’re all the same.

There’s powerful rich Black surgeons, lawyers, judges, Senators, Congress members, Corporate CEO’s, business owners....a Black President. Now if any of those Americans in those categories listed are Conservatives....well we know how you BLM’s think of them. Or if a Black police officer is murdered like Retired Captain David Dorn during your “rioting movement” not a peep. Or Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas as You Ain’t Black Biden and YOUR leaders tried to destroy a powerful Conservative Black man...

Liberal feminists are no different when it comes to Conservative women. Pure hypocrisy at its finest.

^Imo this is the privilege defined.
I have family that are from Poor Valley Abingdon, Va. They grew up in shacks without in door plumbing during the 80’s. Most of my cousins with a couple of uncles turned to violent crime and prostitution. Most are in prison as we speak for attempted murder and drug trafficking. I have one cousin that did time in Brushy Mountain Penitentiary killing three inmates before dying from an infection from being shanked himself in a fight.

So tell me again about this mythical White Privilege and how we all have it. I’d love to hear this.

You must be a Louis Farrakhan disciple. You know he coined the term “white privilege” don’t you. Oh the Bay Area huh? Now I understand.
If I wasn’t a closet racist then I wouldn’t go taking photo ops with the Grand Wizard of the KKK or Hitler. You know 2 powerful Black politicians that are....

Nope! I clearly said in my post that it's their prerogative to say no. Every individual has the right to do what they think is best for them. All I'm saying is it doesn't exactly reinforce the narrative that there is a "cloak and dagger" conspiracy to prevent black coaches from becoming head coaches when those opportunities are turned down when they come along.

Ok... After getting caught up on the thread, I see it went off the rails pretty quick, to say the least.

Got nothing but respect for Kara. Her words should resonate. Haynesworth? He just causes ears to turn deaf.
How about Kara Lawson encourage young black men and women to consider athletics administration as a career? There is literally zero barrier to entry in universities. Zero! No one is blocking persons of color from taking leadership roles in universities. NO ONE!

Can we all just stop this. It has made the national headlines, it has put the University and program in a bad light and in the end will accomplish nothing but more division. UT is not the only school hiring coaches. I would hope that every school would hire the best available candidate, for every job, no matter of their race or gender. The simple fact is that Tee was not and is not the best candidate and if he were hired by race alone and not by his current qualifications and did not produce it would make the divide larger and could ruin his chances of getting another chance in the future. Being a great VFL does not automatically make you qualified to be a HC or the schools AD if you have not proven that your up to the task, because failure will overshadow any of your past success, as it already has.

I get it to a certain degree but he's going to have understand it wasn't personal against Tee it was a cover their own azz move and a smart one. It would have given the NCAA more ammo to use against us. I'm kinda tired of the whole let's boycott because I don't agree with everything bc. Just sit back and see how it turns out. Let Tee get some experience at being a Head Coach and I would be all for him being the HC here.

Can we please have some documentation of those "White coaches getting hired with no qualifications"? I'm willing to support any narrative that can be verified with undisputed unbiased evidence.

Systemic means as a whole. I for one want the best coach available. I don't care what color they are. And thats the way I think the majority of people in Tn. are, whoever is the best; not what color they are. And if the majority are for whoever is best then you do not have systemic racism.

So by this logic black people are not capable of coaching to the same level as white people?

College Football Doesn’t Give Black Coaches Many Chances

Well, I hate to break this to you, but the number of black males with a minimum of a BS is substantially lower than white males, almost 17%. While you may not believe that the fact that blacks are not graduating doesn't contribute to the lower number of coaches, doesn’t mean it isn’t a fact. It is just easier to blame whitey for all the problems. I’m done talking about this, have a good life.

The ultimate counter to this is many more black people play college football than white people.
