Haynesworth calling for boycott...

I disagree. Any attention on this matter is a net positive.
Not when you are criticizing schools who were clearly interested in them. It makes you look unreasonable. It's beyond stupid. Legitimate concerns are the key. Like the Chiefs OC. That's real beef. This is immediately fodder for people who don't think it's an issue. Primarily because it's a giant huge ass lie. Lying doesn't help any cause.

Haynesworth calling for boycott due to "systemic racism" because Tee Martin wasn't interviewed and hired.

Albert Haynesworth calls for boycott of Tennessee Vols football for 'systematic racism'
I am going to boycott Haynesworth for "systematic stupidity". Does he not understand that the number one target who was offered 40M was AA. We just wanted the best coach we can get. As it turned out in this case, our
number 1 and number 3 or 4 were AA and both were offered and they both turned us down.

Fulmer and Haynesworth might have offered it to Tee. Nobody else would; and I like Tee, good guy, good recruiter, not a viable prospect at this time for this position.

What does Haynesworth do for a living these days ? Gee whiz - get a clue dude.

Thanks Coach Martin!!! Thanks Tee, hopefully in my lifetime we’ll get there again.

By all accounts we tried to get the guy from Clemson. We also tried to get Franklin (I’m pretty sure he’s black). So a couple of his targets were black. We didn’t go after tee. But there’s just something about tee that’s prevented him from getting opportunities. I think most that are around him don’t find him to be the type leader (or talented assistant) that get consideration.

Again, you’re harping on Haynesworth and I’m bringing up the bigger issue. Give him more and legitimate reasons to not feel the way he does. I also guarantee he knows more than we do.

Alberts so full of crap and himself. He saw an oportunity to get his name in the press again and took it. He used Tee Martin as his excuse. Sad really sad!

Let me tell you about Haynesworth. 10 years ago he was already bankrupt, still attempting to buy land in Nashville. Yes, I was on the front lines of the bank who laughed at him. Suh is a baby compared to him as a dirty player. **** that ****er!

It's not resonating here on VN with the bulk of our posters it seems. But this does resonate in a lot of households across this land and the brand will take a massive hit for a very long time. Best believe that.

You are creating a separate argument . His position is stupid. And should be called out as such because it's not applicable. You can continue to support people making false accusations. That's hurts the issue more then you know. Stop being dumb.

Even if the "attention" is on something so nonsensical as Albert is being in this case? To say "any attention is a net positive" is being a bit disingenuous isn't it, when the accusation is not always applicable? To me, giving attention to instances such as this only dilutes the cases where it genuinely IS applicable (like with Eric Bieniemy) because it's baseless and untrue. You cannot just assume that systemic racism is always out there somewhere in the ether, therefore it's ALWAYS applicable regardless of how much evidence there is to the contrary. You have to look at these things on a case by case basis and in THIS case, what Albert is saying is just not true. Clearly, black candidates were interviewed and (more importantly) offered. It was THEY who said no thank you. What are you going to do? "Shrugs."

Except we know implicit and explicit biases exist.
The SEC needs help with diversity. This is not an old issue. The conference has just been ridiculously slow in catching up.
Weird how all the best black players come here to the racist SEC as compared to say the Big Ten where slow white boys reign supreme

I can't give him reasons not to feel like he does. I get it. I'm disgustingly liberal myself, but AH's approach is wrong.

Tee's not qualified. Period. End of story about Tee. Franklin and Elliott are qualified and were given consideration (apparently) and declined.

One doesn't change systemic racism by suggesting a boycott because an unqualified coach didn't get an interview. One changes systemic racism by encouraging those who want to be a head coach become qualified. As has happened for Franklin, and will happen for Elliott, if you're qualified...... interviews will happen and you can decline or accept.

I'm not suggesting race isn't an issue. It is sometimes. It's not an issue if you're just not qualified and trying to make it one, as AH is, fails and alienates people from wanting to talk about it as you can see from this thread.

Fight for legit causes when they arise. Don't manufacturer causes just to get the topic "out there."

It is my original point. You have tried to simplify it to UT and you’re still doing it.
UT is in the SEC however and the conference has 0 black head coaches which is inexcusable. I hope the new coach has a diverse staff 🤞
