I think there's not enough voltaran gel in all of Walmart to make those dreams come true. 😄I guess anybody can Toby Keith it if they had to. "May not be good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I ever was." I'll start putting the ice in the tub. 👍🏼

Haynes King would be a great pickup but I haven’t heard much smoke

I actually hope we don't steal another team's QB. That would be a very bad look after all of the goodwill and support we received in rejecting Nico. We'd be validating his behavior. We need to throw our support behind the two young quarterbacks we already have...they need to know we are behind them...and then settle on a half--decent 3-star who's already in the portal to round out the QB squad. No, it wouldn't be ideal, and we might have a down season, but the long-term impact would be very positive. Our program would have integrity, and future high-end quarterbacks would see that integrity, that culture, and they'd feel confident coming here. Plus, we need to be confident that our coaches can develop even 3-star talent (that is, after all, most of our players), and players need to see that our coaches can make them better. We can't only be great when we recruit individual players that are the best; we have to show that we can build a team. Down years will happen, but we'll be in top again. We've got Faizon Brandon waiting in the wings. Let's be thankful We've left the Pruitt-Jones era behind and have entered the Heupel era.

I agree about integrity, unfortunately in today’s society it will have no long term effect. Nobody will care that we did that. They get offered more money somewhere else and that’s where they will go in the long run.

Watching Haynes play last year against Georgia was like watching old school football. He left it out on the field and was the definition of a leader. You could just tell he loved the game and his teammates. I'd love to have that. That's what CF is missing right now... heart.

Watching Arizona St RB in the playoffs was the same. Dude has the most obscenely huge domepiece I have ever seen on a human...they had to special order his helmet...but that dude was unstoppable vs Texas. Ran for like 200 yards...caught about 100yds rec...he was everywhere. He nearly beat Texas all by himself. ASU got absolutely ROBBED in that game too. Should have had a FG attempt of about 40 yards to win it in regulation. Refs screwed them with a BS penalty call, forced overtime, and Texas won.

Shouldn't matter if they did or didn't. What should matter is knowing what you did regardless of others thoughts.

Caleb Williams says hello to that easier path, amongst sevral other.
Name me a QB from the Big 12 outside of Pat Mahomes that’s gone in the first round in the last 10 years that didn’t play for Oklahoma. I’ll wait as long as you need

So now it's 1st round. It was easiest path. And why wouldn't Oklahoma count. Let's take out LSU & Bama.

Don't know what round, but Geno (WV) has started for a season and an half this time w/o losing his job.

Heck, there's 7 in the 2024 season that started and were from G5/FCS schools. Only 2 SEC QB's were wire to wire starters in the 2024 season. Anyone else got benched, got unbenched, or started last game or two to rest the starter. Same as for the G5/FCS ones. 2 wire to wire.

As far as the SEC - 14 1st round QB's since 1998. That's 27 years, so just a wee bit more than 1/2 a QB per year. And if you ain't getting a whole one, does it matter if it's 3/5th or 1/16th or 2/64th of a QB.

The only easy path to the NFL for a QB is to just be really good at your job. There's alot more QB's in the league on all QB assignments than just SEC, 1st round or not.

But to answer your question while your down on your luck there were 8 QB's drafted 1st round from the B12 from 2011-2019.

Total QB's drafted last 4 drafts - all rounds:
B1G - 10
ACC - 8
PAC12 - 8
SEC - 7
B12 - 5
Non P5 - 10

Seems you need to do homework and take the shades off.

And most of those fit that bill or are no longer in the SEC. I’m not saying Big 12 guys don’t make it, I’m just saying there havent been many go in the first round outside of Oklahoma the last 10 years, and first round picks typically get more leeway in their first few years in the league if they don’t come out and set the world on fire

I'm just sayin - 8 first round QB's in 1st round from 2011-2019 ( 8 drafts) plus 5 more total last 4 drafts is pretty darn good. I had to go back to 1998 just to pick up 14 from the SEC. Seems pretty equal.

Forgive me, but this is too easy and you didn't take my advice to do your homework, and you still have on your SEC QB pathway glasses...2010-2019 Big12...8 1st Round QB's drafted...OKLAHOMA (3)...NOT OKLAHOMA (5)...

Since 2019 draft no B12 1st round QB's...but 5 drafted overall as QB's in those years.

Drafts evaluated - 2010-2024

SEC on same drafts 2010-2024
1. 1st Round (9) Only one more than B12.
2. Only 3 were Bama...just like Okie. If it weren't for Bama and LSU the last 4 drafts, Anthony Richardson would have been the lone SEC 1st rounder since Johnny Footbal in 2014. 6 SEC 1st rounders have been since 2020 draft. Outside that, the conference is a pathetic place for a QB wanting 1st round.

same time frame:
B1G - 4 (3 Ohio St)
ACC - 9
PAC12 (10) Pre-Move
Others (G5/FCS) - 6

Seems the only place that's NOT an easy path to the NFL for a QB is the Big10 unless you're tOSU.

Just watched HK’s film. We need to go all in—he reminds me of Hooker. Not real flashy but makes quick decisive decisions and is not afraid to run. Passes well enough.
