I’m told Browns owner, and Tennessee booster, Jimmy Haslam, has been personally calling members of the Tennessee legislature who were critical of Schiano hire and telling them: “You don’t make the Tennessee hire, we do.”

Every one of the people he called should have just answered: "Yes, that's the problem."

This coaching search is actually really simple.....the fans want want any coach that the Haslams do not. If Haslams picks them I guarantee they are not what UT needs.

He will not tell Beth Harwell what to do. Diane Black, season ticket holder, also spoke up. Is harrassment the next thing up.

He's half right. The state legislature doesn't make the coaching hire. However, the University of Tennessee is a large public land grant institution. It does not answer to shareholders like a for profit, but ultimately answers to the state of Tennessee and the various communities that the campuses are located in. It is there to serve the people of this great state who serve as the shareholders. Management at UT's Knoxville campus is responsible not only to the board of trustees but to the community and state at large. When shenanigans such as what has been happening with this coaching hire go on, it is a right thing for the citizens to contact their state representatives to voice disapproval. Frankly, Jimmy Haslam should stay out of the coaching search as he has proven to be an abject failure in competence with this task.

"We" got kicked in the balls this time.

How's the sack Jimmy?

Maybe the swelling goes down so that jumpsuit fits better.

Jimmy deserves to live full time in that northern garden called Cleveland. If you you've never visited there I encourage you to go.

Why does this suprise anyone?? Someone posted the other night that they knew with 100% certainty he called one of them and told them to take it down. I believe they said he politely told them to go to hell

who is this "we" he's speaking of?
oh, so he is the ad. right.

someone needs to stand up to him.
why can't bev and dipietro just fire currie, hire who they want (blackburn) and let him hire the coach? why does everyone have to do what haslam says?

Since Jimmy is the one who called, I assume "we" means him and his dad, Big Jim.

Big Jim is the one who gives most of the money.

Pilot Corporation (50.1%)
FJ Management (11.3%)
Berkshire Hathaway (38.6% (Warren Buffet)

I think Berkshire Hathaway acquires a greater percentage of the company over the next few (5?) years ... but currently, the Haslam’s have majority ownership.
