Don't be naive. The truth about recruiting in ALL SEC programs is "pay to play" at a high level. The truth..... will get you put on probation.

And yeah, it can get much worse. Imagine the football, men's basketball, and Lady Vols all facing scholarships reductions, tournament bans, etc... and possibly coaches getting canned.

They'll settle. They saved millions by firing "for cause" and settling will still save millions but you definitely don't want a bigger, longer investigation into the Athletics program.

Advocating for the truth isn’t naive. I find that’s a common accusation by those afraid of the truth.

We’ll already be on probation. This is a great opportunity, and we’ve a hell of a lot less to be scared of now than we did last Wednesday.

For a true freshman with no spring or fall camp practice reps he did well this season.

If he wants to leave, then there's really nothing we can do. Pruitt is gone.

What the heck is going on with Brian Maurer?

Maurer, Hooker, and Salter still give us good opinions at QB.

Not sure how this all works but was wandering what the penalties and punishment would be for the players that took cash or other forms of gifts? Do they just get kicked off the team or are they not allowed in collage sports anywhere? Can someone give some insight on this?

I love how we as fans love the back-up QB more than anyone on the team (even if he has not practiced a down like Salter). If Salter comes in and does not score a touchdown on his first drive, we will be yelling for his unknown back-up, lol. I have been guilty of the same mentality.

While I think it could get rougher still I hope once the dust settles (and all the media, pundits, and other fans bases wear down a little) things should level out a bit. I doubt we’ll see a wholesale transfer of current rosters and recruiting will still go forward. Of course after the NCAA does their thing we may be kissing our sister for a while.

Get tired of posting this for our extremely short memory Vol fans....

Dobbs is a great guy by all accounts. Proud of him, and hes a VFL. That said, there was a thread after damn near EVERY game he started, sometimes during them, about him being unable to hit the broad side of a barn. Why? Because he couldnt. He was most games a terrible passer that bailed himself, and us, out with his amazing scrambling legs. On his BEST days passing, he was an average SEC QB theowing the ball. Those were rare. CBJ ran a passing offense that was the exact opposite of what Chaney ran with so many deep balls for JG (only thong he was somewhat good at) ...Dobbs nearly always threw screens, to the flat, RB on a wheel route, and passes behond the LOS....all short passes with hope for lots of yards after catch. Why did they run these same plays over and over? Because CBJ and staff knew that Dobbs could only throw short passes with any kind of accuracy. They schemed to his strength...like good coaches do. Dobbs was and apparently still is not good at all throwing the ball...which is whu he hasnt made it in the NFL. Just like Tebow...minus all the TDs and National Championships, Heisman, etc....which did nothing to help him in the pros. You have to be a pretty good passer to make it, regardless of your wheels.

To contrast, Bray has a cannon that is as good or better than 75% of NFL passers. Thats why he hung around in the league so long. He is an elite passer in any level of football. If we had just half of a decent defense while he was QB here, we could have damn near gone undefeated. We scored at will....problem was evwryone we played scored at will against Sunseri and others defenses. Every game was a shoot out where we needed 40+ points to win. I dont know when was the last time we scored 40 points? Was Bray still QB? I know in the decade JG was QB we never have....SO GLAD to be rid of the worst QB in UT history...by far. Lost twice as many games as he won, and then a couple more. Good riddance.

Because every QB that hasn’t stepped on campus is the savior. I remember Justin Worley being the next Messiah or when losing Jesse Scroggins was the end of it all.

These clever catch phrases become t-shirts..from Brick by Brick to Aight..hell people even loved Dooley because of his dad. The unknown is always better than the reality
