Harrison Bailey started following...

If it were Yurcich, and I suspect there's a good chance it's not, he would be a reasonably good hire. Here are Yurcich's offensive efficiency ratings over the past few seasons:

2013: 26th
2014: 60th
2015: 21st
2016: 14th
2017: 2nd
2018: 14th

Basically, he's been very good every year except 2014. His last 3 seasons have been his best. And Oklahoma State's defense has been up and down, which explains their struggles. This year, their defensive efficiency was 80th. Last year it was 42nd, so the drop from 10-3 to 6-6 has a lot more to do with their D than Yurcich.

I'm feeling good about this but we that could be the NyQuil Vicks vapor rub talking

Here’s what jumped out at me..

OSU In 2018
Points For:
461
Points/G: 38.4 (14th of 130)
Points Against: 389
Opp Pts/G: 32.4 (98th of 130)

They beat Texas, lost to Oklahoma by 1, even though they scored 35 pts. Their offense did the job. Their defense was terrible.

It's all about selling points to him.

"Coach, we want you in Tennessee. Here's a significant raise, a new car/truck for recruiting and you can run the offense without any interference from anyone..."

"And did we mention we have way bigger sidelines than Stillwater?"
And we have coonskin caps, not mullets

I think we get him for one year and one year only. If he comes in here and even gets 7-8 wins, but has the same high octane offense I see at OKST, he's as good as gone to a HC position.

So, we can't hire a long-term OC because they all suck, and we can't hire a good OC because they'll bolt after a year.

Sounds about right.

One explanation about 2014 was the fact they were plagued by injuries at QB that year.

That's not what I said...

Go back and reread it and kindly be quiet.

Read this article slowly and critically consider how much of it has a single shred of verifiable proof. ZERO. It's an article quoting from another article where there is no actual source. That is mixed with statements of his own that have ZERO proof. Finally the"reporter" (read 'sorcerer') finishes with handful of personal opinions about how it will work out if it happens. All laced with plenty of wiggle room to defend possible future attacks when 100% of this is found to be baseless.

I'm not saying we can't hire this guy. But NOTHING in this claptrap indicates anything tangible.

I am not sure what to think if it is him. Is that Mike Gundy's offense or his? Is he handicapped by Mike Gundy or does Mike Gundy make him look better as a play caller?

Mike Gundy sits in the stands during practice. I think Jurcich has been the OC as much could be possible.

1) It is both. Gundy hired Yurich partly because they ran the same stuff.

2) No idea. Gundy is known as a very hands off coach. Apparently watches practice from the bleachers. On the other hand, he does have a hand in making sure the offense is always innovating and ahead of the curve.
