Happy when Dawn Staley is not

I think this is why Dawn receives the hate she does...it’s not her, it’s the SC fans. Don’t come on a Tennessee board and say life “moves on”. It’s beyond disrespectful and so cavalier.
No disrespect intended and you know it. I’m off this board. I’ve been on many WBB boards and the posters on this one are hateful. I get it - this is a Tennessee board, but you can’t even discuss anything over here without being attacked. Peace.

She won a National Championship (singular) in 2017 with a lot of talent and a favorable draw in the NCAA Tournament. South Carolina caught a huge break when Mississippi State upset UConn in the national semifinals. South Carolina had lost by 11 points earlier in the season to UConn, and they would have lost again had they played them in the Championship Game. Hell, South Carolina couldn't even beat Tennessee that season (at home).

I promise it's nothing personal. LOL. I don't think she is a good in-game coach. Of course, you are free to disagree.

This is an argument of the eternal sour. As classless as it can be for a fan - to try to build UP their own team's position for FAILING, by putting DOWN another team's position for succeeding. It's like 2+2 = 1 kind of math.

Nobody told Connecticut to lose to Mississippi State. Your team wins a game by a player hitting a game-winning shot at the buzzer, and you would NEVER put down your team or player for winning like that. You'd make it into a legendary game, moment, or whatever, and make that player that hit the shot into an all-time program favorite.

Nobody told ANY team they had to step aside and let South Carolina on through. Each team had their own draw, their own bracket, and their own tiers of opponents to beat to get to the final game. It's like that for EVERY tournament.

South Carolina did what they had to do in 2017. Whether winning by 1 point or by 101 points. They have nothing to apologize for.
Connecticut did NOT do what they had to do to get there. South Carolina was there waiting for WHOEVER to oppose them, and it turned out to be Mississippi State. That's NOT on South Carolina - that's on Connecticut. South Carolina took care of its business in 2017. Connecticut did NOT, and hasn't taken care of its business since.

But your argument is because of South Carolina doing what it needed to do, that somehow it's SUCCESS should be disparaged as a result? And because "if SC had played them in the Champ. game they would have lost again", that somehow you're uplifting Connecticut - who FAILED TO EVEN GET THERE - over a perceived potential outcome that never takes place because....CT failed. Hell, you speak of SC losing by 11 pts to CT earlier, but didn't Mississippi State lose to CT by 50 POINTS in the previous game they played against them? That didn't matter one damned bit in the 2017 NCAAT, did it?

What the hell attempt at an argument is this even??????

And for Tennessee fans upset over South Carolina fans coming on their board, why is there a South Carolina thread started by a Tenn. fan lasting for a whole month with 7 pages of posts??? What exactly is the question here???

I thought this thread was dead.

Rick, this guy appears out of nowhere calling us a bunch of classless fans....

You'd think we tried to force the Cocks to use a Nike ball, or something....
We all know she only likes Wilson's ball's.....
