Because you all libs should lead by example, let's take Bernie he paid 26% which is what he is required to pay but he is pushing for 52% so why didn't he write a check for the balance? Show some leadership and lead on the issueWhich was the perfect answer. Who in their right mind pays more than they owe?
Did anyone watch the Bernie Sanders town hall yesterday. When they asked him why he didn't offer to pay more in taxes like he's proposing gets added to higher income earners taxes he went pffftttt. I paid what I owed.
No one has ever said you should pay more than you owe, only that you should owe more that you currently pay. COLOSSAL DIFFERENCE.Who in their right mind says people like me need to pay more taxes and then scoffs at the idea of paying more taxes? It's just like the "sanctuary" cities, come one come all we'll take care of you, until they say okay.
He doesn't scoff at the idea that his tax liability should be greater.I was referring to Bernie, speaking in the first for him, my error.
Fine, good for him, write a check. I bet he has 100s of lawyers and accountants finding every way to get every single tax break he can legally get.He doesn't scoff at the idea that his tax liability should be greater.
The same with Bill Gates, the person who has paid more income taxes than any American in history, he pays what he owes but thinks people at his level should be taxed more heavily. Nothing incongruent in that.
The 10% across the board is just a general starting point. There would obviously be some that could stand to be cut more and some that may be able to justify smaller cuts. I would say if they can't agree on which fall into each category, then the 10% across the board goes into effect.
The tax system - I would have a graduated scale where the more you make the higher the percentage you pay.
Someone who wants these higher taxes should set the example and be the first one to pay these higher taxes they want.
Bill Gates would be ripped alive by the press if he said something other then that. Same with Warren. These aren’t stupid men. Gates donates billions with his charities. Clearly he thinks he is better apt at determining where large amounts of money should go then our Government. If his tax liability were higher it would be less he could put to work in charities. Actions speak louder then words. And for the record I think Gates does good work.He doesn't scoff at the idea that his tax liability should be greater.

That's why we need to close the loopholes and/or having a simpler system.
I guess it depends on how sever the penalty is. If you're talking about working harder moving you into a higher tax bracket, I just don't buy that being a deterrent.Serious question. Why would I want to work harder if I am going to be penalized for doing so?
