What I did...Marry a woman who likes football. My wife was a two sport athlete in college and know enough about football that I NEVER have to explain what is going on. God, I love her.

Couldn't begin to read the thread...just too long. But, based upon the initial post, I'd say your wife is manipulative and acting childish as hell.

ok guy, here's what you do ... seriously. The night before the game you bring home flowers, spend all night with her, and do all the touchy feely stuff women like. Somewhere through the night you say, " honey, is it ok if i watch the game tomorrow then after its over we can go to lunch. i'd really like you to watch the game with me." She may watch the game if she likes football but if she doesnt shes off to the mall. You just gotta set it up the night before.

Dont ever get married! She would leave you over shopping in a hearbeat. Divorce now! It sounds harsh, but it will only get worse. You're gonna get these sappy, traditional guys on here talking about how you need to always please her. No so! She needs to understand that there are things that you like to to as well, and it doesn't involve following her around stores, and holding clothes for her while she tries things on. I could go on foreve about this! OK you all, bring it on!!!

I've been in your shoes. My ex-fiance constantly made me feel guilty about my love for the Vols, and sports in general. I couldn't even talk about athletics without catching crap about it. Fortunately, we didn't get married, and now I can live, eat, sleep, and breath sports without feeling terrible. Tennessee football is one day out of seven, and just a few short months a year. If she can't understand your feelings about Tennessee then it's going to be a LONG road. It's all about making sacrifices on both ends, and for your sake I hope she understands. Don't know about anyone else but I let my wife know before we got married that I bleed Orange. I am not going to miss a game. So for 29 years we have watched the Vols games together. Now mind you we got married on Jan 1st so there have been many Vols bowl games played during that time and I can say we have not missed a single one. We always work it into our Anniversary plans.

If a woman loves you she knows you can go shopping anytime but the football games are set to be played at a specific time. Go shopping before or after a game it is not that much to ask if she really loves you. If she can’t love you enough to do that then find a new wife. GO VOLS!
