I assume that she was fairly accepting (or at least ambivalent) about you watching the games when you were dating?

You are not alone.. trust me.

My fiancee is now a Vols fan. She knows how bad of a mood I'm in when we get beat, which is her motivation for the Vols to win haha. I tell her that Saturdays in the fall are for football, and she can have me for whatever she wants on Sundays.

Be smart about this one. Go shopping then find somewhere near the mall to watch the game...like a Chilis or some bar. This might be the one week where the game is over by the first quarter.

Dude at one point in my relationship mine was the same way, but I STAYED STRONG. SHE WILL GET OVER IT. Mine now knows that SATURDAY and SUNDAY is NO GO. She will watch games with me most times or I send her shopping while me and the little guy yell at the TV all day. Trust me man if she loves you she will get over it. IF NOT THEN DIVORCE:crazy:

:eek:hmy:

I know you can't be serious.

Incorrect, IMO. I would just say to actually talk about it a bit and figure out how to make it work. Going with her and trying to find a place to watch it would just put the fight off for another day, if that.

Thanks for all the comments. She is a very very hardheaded person. When she get's pissed, you're done. She will be mad for the rest of the day. I dont think anything I can do will change how much she is pissed at me for the moment. She thinks that I was going to let her walk out of my life over football. I dont know what to do. I guess I am just going to let her sulk in it all day with her mother while she is shopping. If the Vols get blown out this day will be hell for me.

It will get easier man, all in time. I never had that problem as my wife saw how important TN football was to me when we were dating. I've missed games in the past but never UL/FL or UT/AL. I don't like missing the other games but I leave them on the table for compromise.

I'd say you'd be happy to join her next time (even if it conflicts with a game - just not this game)...then set a time that works for both of you. Then I'd suggest she go to a spa, she get a pedicure etc. She should invite a friend and make a girls day out. It's important that she know that you want her to have fun while you have fun.

If you go shopping with her and then bail to watch the game at a bar, then she will be just as mad as if you just stayed home.

So I have been married for 4 months. Sure, it's had it's rocky bottoms but this morning it just got alot worse. My wife, wanted to head out and go shopping today. She wanted me to go with her, and when I didnt show concern for going, she made me feel horrible about it. Say's I would let her walk out of the door over football. That I would rather spend the day watching football than with her my wife. Football is only a few short months out of the year. Is it so bad for me to want to stay home and watch this huge game? It was a huge argument and she just left very pissed off at me. NOT GOOD!!!

What in the world should I do?

Just tell her you will miss her, and to leave the dog.

GO VOLS

Ask her one simple question.

Are the malls open tomorrow?

Case closed.

Then, tell her to get in the kitchen and make you a sandwich.

It sounds like your wife may have a maturity problem and tries to manipulate you through guilt. I had one of those at one time and now I call her "ex-wife!" Tell her to grow up!

At four months, its a control thing. She doesn't really want you to go shopping, so much as she wants you to kowtow to the demand.

It is imperative that you draw a line in the sand on this one. Imagine three years from now when the Vols are in the SEC c-ship game and she wants to go to the outlet malls to shop for Christmas. You need to set the tone for that right now.

Incidentally, I do not do divorce law, but am willing to learn.
